Stupid Question...

Sorry but i am kinda new to bikes and was riding around town today on my Hi-Bird 200 gy and when i stoped at a light and put it into 1st , the bike died. so when i fired it back up and the clutch was pulled in, it tried to launch... I read in the Tech info page that the cluth needs to be adjusted but can somebody go into detail so even I can figure out how to do it?
