Not sure if I told this story yet but......

Not sure if I mentioned it but almost 2 years ago, my work partner and her husband moved to a mothballed cedar home in the mountains, just outside of Pine Grove, Ca. (remember that Doc?). The place hadn't been inhabited in almost 10 years. It needed a lot but it was to be their 'new beginnning' together after the last kid graduated and life was now moving on.
Well.....unfortunately, 2 weeks after they (partially) moved in and just started to make the place 'semi-liveable'.....he met an untimely demise.
So.....Mrs 2LZ and I jumped into action.
I can go on about running electricity, rebuilding the pellet stove (her only source of heat other than wood), diggin up and repairing the propane line so hot water was to be had, etc...etc....but I'll spare you the details.
This years project was to seal up the place and stain it. It was like an icey wind tunnel for her last snowey Winter. That was not to be this year.
I pressure washed the place about 6 weeks ago and it let me know what needed to happen....so the 3 of us palm sanded the entire outer structure.
Finally....after all the caulking and sanding.....last weekend we sprayed it.
Here was what we started with. You can see how blackened the cedar had become. It hadn't been treated in over 25 years.

A wee bit of masking after the sanding and cleaning was done.

2LZ in Spray Mode. She picked a true oil in Cedar/Fir color.

The gals back-brushing after I'd spray a section.

My friend, enjoying the finished product with an icey adult beverage after a long day.

Just have to go back now and hang the downspouts and it's done till the trim next Spring! Winters knocking early this year.
