When I do a conversion to LEDs or to brighter(higher wattage) bulbs,I replace the turn signal flasher relay with an EL-12 electronic flasher relay. This really doesn't give two shakes about the type of bulb is in the circuit.
I don't know why, but the automotive, electronic flasher relays won't work for all motorcycles. I went to Auto Zone and bought several electronic flasher relays, but none of them would properly operate the LED turn signals for my Zong. After I installed the flasher relay from SuperBright LEDS, my LED turns signals worked great.

Thanks for the heads up.If I run across that issue,I'll get the super bright relay.

Welp, apparently my LED's were delivered but there's no LED's here. So either it went to the wrong address or someone stole my mail. I thought it was weird that there was no mail, that is a rarity. I logged in and they have the correct address so who knows what happened. Probably have to wait until Monday to get in contact with someone.

I sorry to hear of your problem, MBF. :( I used to work for the U.S.P.S., so I know they occasionally deliver mail to the wrong address. Since tampering with the U.S. mail is a federal felony, I think it's rare for someone to steal another person's mail. Therefore, I hope your mail was delivered to the wrong address, and the person who received it will quickly return it to you. Please do keep us updated regarding this matter.

Everything ended up making it's way to me today, so that's a relief.

Unfortunately the turn signal bulbs are much larger than I thought. Shoulda listened to Spud and measured! I'd have to drop down to the 9 LED 1156 bulbs, as they look like they need to be under 1.5" inches to clear the housing. So I'm thinking about just buying those D2moto's.

As for the the dash, the #74's fit perfectly but I shoulda bought the #74 360 degree version for the speedo's illumination. The larger ones I purchased could fit if I changed the connectors, but I put power on them and they don't really seem any brighter than their smaller counterpart.

So I'm going to order a few other things and I'll report back what I end up using. Don't worry I'll post pics :P

I'm glad you received your package! Was your package delivered to the wrong address?

Instead of buying the D2Moto turn signals, you can also buy conventional turn signals that will accomodate your larger LED bulbs. I like my Western Power Sports Oval Turn Signals; they cost about $14/pair.

http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...=45&zmap=27030

I have also used some turn signals I purchased from Hoosier Garage. These turn signals will hold your LED bulbs, look good, and only cost $9/pair.

http://www.hoosiergarage.com/motorcy...n-Signals.aspx

However, the Hoosier Garage turn signals are not as strong as the WPS Oval turn signals, and will likely break if you drop your bike. I know, because I have broken several of them. :( The WPS Oval turn signals are much more ruggedly constructed; that's why I switched to the WPS turn signals for my Zong.

It just showed up today...no idea. I honestly think sometimes the USPS person does not like to take the time to come up to the house when packages won't fit in the mailbox. I had another issue with them leaving a note in the mailbox that they attempted to deliver a package to the door and no one did.

Look's like I'm buying those Western Power Sports turn signals! Good advice Spud. I was concerned about going with a smaller bulb and them not being bright enough to be safe. That's a great alternative to buying those D2motos. They're very nice but I've already bought these bulbs and would like to put them to use. Thanks again.

Spud, are those round mirrors you have on your Zong stock? I like the way those look. Also, what'd your pick for your "bike" on motorcycle superstore. It's wanting to know what brand/model/year. I doubt it matters cause they look universal but I wanted to make sure.

Ordering 4 of these for the speedo's illumination. They're the same size pretty much but have 1 LED on the top, 1 on the left and right side which provide 360 degree's of light. I think they will be much better for my setup. The single LED's weren't getting the light around enough despite being very bright, the light spread wasn't large enough

I ordered some 1/2" rubber 194 sockets with pig tails found here.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ht_1790wt_1270

A little pricey but I don't like the stock #74 connections very much so I'm hoping to use the 194 bulbs I ordered with these. They just seemed really fickle and cheap. I measured the hole for the light socket on the back of the speedo and it looks like they should fit. They should be better quality and allow the bulbs to not be recessed in so far into the speedo. I notice that the illumination is better with the bulbs pulled out a bit. Probably due to the components inside blocking the light from spreading evenly around.

Also, this will allow me to use a non polarity sensitive bulb in the turn signal indicator which is needed to make it flash when using both left and right turn signals.

Spud, I received those Western Power Sports turn signals and the LED bulbs still don't fit :( You used your 1156-A19 Wide angled bulbs in these?

Update: I went ahead and made them work. took out the socket and soldered on my wires directly to the bulb, taped it up, put a rubber ring around it and wedged it in the casing. So they fit :P All that may sound gruesome but it's really sturdy and feels more rugged than the way they came. They're really nice turn signals for the money, much better than my stock, good plastic. I would have liked to leave them the way they were but....you know. Gotta work with what you got. Waiting on the other two turn signals for the front to arrive.

Now to finish working on the dash's LED's.

I forget the part number for the 1156, LED bulbs I purchased. Did you get the WPS Oval Turn Signals? Yes, my LED bulbs fit into the WPS Oval turn signals without a problem. In an event, I'm glad you found a solution, and got the bubs installed, MBF.

Yes, I bought the one you linked which is the WPS Oval ones as well as the same LED's you said you used in your LED conversion thread. The bulbs stuck out about 3/8's an inch too far :/

Something must have changed; the LED bulbs fit fine in my WPS Oval turn signals. The make a tight fit, but they fit.
