Help! Sprocket change tutorial

I thought saw a sticky for a sprocket change tutorial. But I am unable to find it. Does this thread exist or am I just imagining things?

I don't know about a tutorial but if you have questions feel free to ask. I just went through the whole process for the front and rear sprocket. It's easy to do. Just make sure to break the bolts free on the front sprocket before you raise the bike to do the rear. Also have your bike out of gear to prevent putting any extra strain on the tranny.

What are your questions, Dibe? I remove the rear wheel to change the rear sprocket. Raise the rear wheel, and loosen the axle. I prefer using a swingarm stand to support the rear of the bike.

After the axle is loose, loosen the chain adjusters, and shove the rear wheel forward. The drive chain is now loose enough so you can remove it from the rear sprocket. Remove the axle, et cetera, and remove the rear wheel. You can now easily remove the old rear sprocket, and install the new one.

Remove the chain from the C/S sprocket. Loosen the bolts or clip holding the countershaft sprocket, and remove the C/S sprocket. Replace the C/S sprocket, and reattach the fasteners. Thread the drive chain around the C/S sprocket.

Install the rear wheel with new sprocket. Before tightening the axle, shove the rear wheel forward, and install the drive chain on the rear sprocket. Adjust chain tension, and tighten the rear axle.

It was more about getting the drum brake back in position. I was able to rotate the drum down put in the arm on the splined shaft then rotate it back up in to position and that seemed to work well.

On a side note, there is about an inch of free play on both the too and bottom of the chain when it is up on the jack. Do you all think this is sufficient?

When my big old self sits on it then it really slackens up, lol.
