When i did my converaion with the 86 ninja wheels on my roketa, the rear used the stock spacers and the front i used the speedo hub in its normal spot and just stacked 1/2 washers til the forks didnt bind and the brakes didn't rub... Its really not a hard conversion... I made it harder by using the 86 rims that used a larger rear brake rotor though...LOL had to cut down a 1/4" off of it to fit my rear caliper...

I see this thread has died a while ago but just picked up some ninja 250 wheels and ready to get this going. I will try to document everything and put pictures up so others can know how to do this. Hopefully it will be a success!

Ok so the back wheels fits really well, but you will have to change the front sprocket for 520 chain. The sprocket is a JT sprocket, jtf.328. The spacer that came with the wheel lines up with the sprockets
The main problem is the brake bracket, the rotor bolts will hit it, so you will need to get the ninja 250 rear brake bracket and rear brake, I'm waiting on that to come in but I'm 99% sure it'll work. I took the rear brake off and drove it around and everything else seems good, but you will need a smaller rear sprocket. As for the front it's gonna take a bit more work, only did an initial fit up so don't have much info on the front |

Interesting... i didnt have issues with the rotor bolts hitting anything on my 86 250 wheels.... as for sprockets, i have a 12t front currently, and 38t rear on my rims....

I started this project as well based on OPs recommendation of the ninja wheels, and I've done a similar project using ninja wheels on a klr650 that didn't end very well. Things look MUCH brighter for this bike. Here's my video on it, and I'll be updating as I go.
