Arashi Wind Deflector...Joe #2 Question
In order to quiet the wind noise at highway speeds (55-60 mph), I installed the Arashi wind deflector that Joe #2 posted about.
It seems to be a quality (made in China) part. I'm particularly impressed with the hardware, and its infinite adjustability. I won't know if it works until tomorrow. ![]() The question for Joe #2 is where do these 2 left over parts go? I think they have to do with the rubber mounting clamps, but don't see any real need for them. ![]() jb

I have those parts lying around also. I didn't use them. Make sure to put some locktite on the 4 allen screws, don't over tighten or they'll (A) break the windscreen and/or (B) push themselves through the black rubber and mar the windscreen.
In hindsight I'm thinking those could be put behind the black rubber so the 4 allen screws push on the metal instead of directly on the rubber.

You're Correct
All of the wind diverters I have purchased have 2 metal plates for exactly that reason.

Update:
After ~1,000miles , the wind deflector is not a cure for wind noise. I've adjusted the deflector to multiple positions. It does seem to help. At least the pitch of the noise is different... ![]() The cure is for me is no windshield at all. But that means I would be covered with bug guts. ![]() If I stand on the pegs so my head is in the clean air, the wind noise noticeably decreases. jb

My uncle had one of the rare really sporty limited edition two door hatch style Pintos. It was bright silver, lipstick red interior, 4-speed manual trans, and a 302 V8 from the factory. It was the same set-up used in the Boss Mustang II and Boss Maveric.

My first car was a Pinto station wagon. Didn't have a V8 though :-(
