Apollo Deluxe Update, Took Maiden Voyage Around Town
I finally got a chance to take the maiden voyage around town to break it in. Looking at the picture, I got so excited that I forgot to remove all of the sticker protectors.
My thoughts are that it's smoother than the Enforcer I had, but still pretty "buzzy" on the grips. I will definitely need to replace the grips. I can't compare the stock carb to the new one (Mikuni) since I installed the Mikuni before I even started the bike, but I can say that there was no bog with the Mikuni. The bike started right up, even when cold, and only needed a few seconds of choke. The bike shifted fine. No issues finding any of the gears or neutral. I will post additional updates as I drive it more. Last edited by Ski_rush; 04-15-2019 at 11:30 PM. |

I have the dirt version. I put plastic tank on and reduced the vibrations by a substantial amount. I didnt know it would when I did it. I just wanted a plastic tank. http://store.orionmotors.nl//index.p...sort=2a&page=5
Get the gas cap too if you decide you need it.

We you able to weight it? Curious to know what that would be. Also are the rims aluminum or steel?

One other thing I forgot to mention was I thought the brakes worked very well. I have not changed brake fluid; current running stock brake fluid. The brakes were tight and effective. In contrast, I found the brakes on the Enforcer I had to be weak and pretty spongy. I sold that bike and bought a Suzuki GS500F right after And was amazed at how much better the brakes felt. The Enforcer brakes were weak enough that they made me nervous. And, I did swap the stock fluid on that bike for Dot 4. I feel the brakes on the Apollo feel normal for a bike, that is, tight and effective. Feedback on the seat: much better for trail riding and dirt riding because it’s easier to get closer to the tank with your legs. I’m guessing the seat on the Enforcer and Hawk are probably more comfortable for a longer ride though, since their seats are larger, wider, and have more cushion to them. This seat is more firm and probably more set up for dirt riding. I’m guessing at this point because I’ve only risen this thing once. |

Do you have a bathroom scale? Just do one wheel at a time. Use something of equal thickness on the other wheel to keep it level.

REALLY like that bike! One can only hope they'll be CARB approved someday.
I would count on the "buzzy" fading quite a bit as it breaks in. It will be curious to see what you think after the 500 mile mark. Congrats on getting it in the wind! ![]()

I'm not, it really works. Just add both wheels together. If you have a competition go kart track nearby they have scales too.

ANY truck stop has certified scales you can drive it up on. But WHY, is my question. Don't Orion list the weight on their site.
