front sprocket sloppy ?
I just got my new chain to up grade what came on my Brozz 250. I took my old one off, and was surprised to see how loose the front sprocket fits it's spline. Is this normal ?, Or do I have an issue? I have 160 miles on the bike, and no abusive riding.

It's normal to have a little wiggle.

I have a magician, the front sprocket felt sloppy to me as well. I put a small bit of wire as a spacer behind it to help remove the slop.
I felt like it would wear the shaft more if it wiggled a bunch. So some wax based lube along with a small spacer felt better to me. |

My TT250 has an absurd amount of play on the front sprocket. I bought a new sprocket. No better.

Unfortunately, I came to the conclusion that it isn't sprocket to shaft slop, but that the shaft moves in and out of the transmission.

squawk from front sprocket or clutch starting in first
I periodically have a squawk/chatter sound when I begin to let the clutch out from a stop. I immediately pull the clutch again, and start more gently. This has happened maybe 4 times in the first 20 miles on the bike. It's new.
I thought it was the clutch and the cheap oil it came with, but it happened a couple of times after I changed to good T4 oil. Anybody else have this happen?? |

I think the chatter and countershaft slop are related. Under high load, the slop shifts all the way one way. Pull your countershaft cover and look for spots where the chain has bedn hitting case or cover.

It sounds like TXTao gets this "chatter" periodically on his tbr7. But mine did the before AND after changing out the original oil. I thought it was the cheap oil that was causing it, but it didn't stop when I put in the T4. If the clutch just needs some time to break in, maybe this will stop. After more than 40 Japanese singles, twins, and mostly 4 cylinder big bore bikes in as many years, this is the first time I have ever had clutch issues. I just hope it goes away! |

My 2015 has a little bit of slop on the front sprocket. I have had other bikes that have a similar feel.
