Battery won't stay charged...need help

Not a mechanic, but you're going to need to clarify a bit before even a real mechanic can help you. You say it "takes forever to start", and the battery won't stay charged. But, how long is "forever"? No battery will run forever, and cranking can run even a big battery down in short order even if the battery and charging system are fine. If it's crank-crank-cranking without start, you're missing spark, fuel, or compression, and there's a whole list of stuff other than the battery to check over.
