My journey this far
My motorcycling journey began with a whimsical buy of a 1992 Vulcan 500, I quickly realized that it might have been a bit to much for my first time bike. I sold that bike used the money to buy a CSC SG250. I loved that bike. Still love and miss it dearly. I realized about about 4 months I wanted a bigger bike again and bought a Vulcan 500 again. Then I got taxes….and bought a KPM 200 I originally had purchased the KPR but switched it with Venom for the KPM before it shipped. I liked the bike enough I guess, but it just was not my SG250. Then a job change forced me to sell my bikes and now that I went back to my original place of employment I am ready for my next bike. I have realized that as long as k can do 60 on a bike I’m happy. I have ridden on interstates with bigger bikes but they are not as fun as smaller engines around the twisties

Good story Pastor, what bike are you looking at purchasing now? There is so many great bikes to choose from anymore

X22R Gr, or X22R Max or the superbike variant. Lol. I was going for the lifan kpr but since I’m 250 and need to go at least 65 at points I don’t think it will do it

I have the KPR 200 and am 235lbs. The bike runs 60 to 65mph quite happily with a top speed of an indicated 77mph while giving 70 to 75mpg. Although I live in the flat land Saginaw Mi. area so hills aren't a consideration. And heavy headwinds makes the bike struggle to maintain that speed. That said I researched the X22R myself but the dealer had the KPR on the showroom floor and gave me a good deal. But I don't think you would go wrong with the X22R.

That is the worst part about where I live in south central Ohio. We have a lot of hills, just starting into the mountains. But I don’t plan on going 70-75 as on of the main highways here is dangerous for regular cars let alone motorcycles. My main route if I can hit 60-65 I’m good for my regular commute

I think the x22r max would be a great bike for you, although I don’t have any experience with it. The KPR does really well on the highway and at times I can cruise 73-74mph for a while but wind and hills together will kill the power and during those times it struggles to maintain 65mph. In my situation I would take my bike just about anywhere but if you have a lot of steep hills I would probably go with the max bike. They are fuel injected and have a 6 speed combined with a little more displacement should be good for you

It looks to me that the engine specs are the same, the max has an oil cooler installed which would be nice. I personally like the max better for the seat and I love the max instrument cluster. But the superbike has a better color selection, that white looks awesome to me. So, I'm not sure either as I guess it would come down to preference. Maybe someone who has either bike will chime in. I don't think you could go wrong with either selection though.
