HiBird or Roketa
Hello guys. I am hoping to get a enduro soon and hit some trails
![]() I have the chance to get a 2009 Roketa with 2800 miles on it and factory off road sprocket and after market highway sprocket for $950. or A HiBird that has 600 miles on it and I am not sure of the year. I am hoping to settle on a price of between $700-$800 for that one. I am curious as to what your guys think is the better bike/deal. Thanks! |

Same bike basically. For the most part a 200cc OHV CB is a 200cc OHV CB.
All made from the same parts bin. The 'brand' is irrelevent. With that in mind I'd base your decision on mileage and condition. Year is also largely unimportant.

With that in mind I will probably go with the Hibird. I have to call the guy tomorrow to work out a deal but he is asking $1000 OBO for it so I am hoping to whittle him down ![]() |

Some of the earlier Hibirds had 230cc engines, but then they stopped importing those and we only got the 200's. This might be a plus for you

I'd choose a pushrod engine over an OHC.

Well I ended up going with the Roketa. It is in really good condition, the only thing is the rear blinder mount is snapped so it is just being held on by tape right now.
I ended up paying 700 for it and throwing in a xbox I had laying around and didn't play much any more (don't worry I have another xbox =P). Pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Are you able to tell if that is a pushrod or OHC motor? It does not have the two big 24MM nuts on the valve cover as described in the valve adjustment sticky.

Sounds like an OHC based on the valve cover but the left side looks like an OHV but hard to tell. Maybe some closeups? Weld likes the OHV but I prefer the OHC. To me it seems a little more willing to rev, and has a bit more juice on the top end.

I am excited to put the off road sprocket on it and go through some trails. I get a break from work here in couple of hours and will go take some close ups of the engine. |

I like that Roketa style. They were always a little more "sporty" looking than the standard GY200's that were dominating the market a a few years back. They have a 'lowered' look to them.
Personally, I don't think I would bother with the off-road sprocket. These, as I am quite sure you already know, are not all-out off-road bikes, instead prefering a good dirt trail or two. The sprocket you have on there should do the trick just fine.

Agree. Try what you have before changing anything.
You can re-do the tail section nice, and cheap with LED blinkers +/- Edge II taillight.

![]() ![]() ![]() Also, is there a certain spec for how the chain should be adjusted? I looked in the manual that was uploaded and did a search but could not find it. The chain is slapping around some right now. Also, is there a way to adjust the throttle cable? I have notice a lot of slop in it. Thanks! |
