I'm probably going to go across the back with a receiver style hitch, mostly because the likely candidate to be hauled anywhere is one of my British 3 speeds, which, with a generator hub, are a PITA to remove and install front wheels on.

Took the side car windshield off before running back and forth to O'hare. Brought it up to 31.5.
So. Joking aside, it's all dialed in. Plugs are a light tan now, not the powdered soot I had before. Neutral switch is adjusted enough that the light only comes on in neutral. Well, most of the time, anyway. I also added a pad to the brake pedal from Ural of New England. Raises the contact point on the pedal about 3/4 " and basically adds that 3/4" to the pedal travel. Which means I now have real rear brakes instead of 'retarders'. Time to clean up and go to out to dinner with Mrs. C. If it wasn't going to rain, we'd take the Ural.

I don't like the nylon strap around the bike's headset, looks like it would wear the paint but other than that some fine engineering there. Nice Connie too. Great bikes.

Such a waste, because I'm not there as my employer is also making up for lost time.

Eli and I went for a short ride last night and he was sporting his new lid with, wait for it, Iguana spines.
Three years old and wears an adult XS. A more than typical Friday night in town. November 4th, a Friday, almost 70F, people basking in a World Series win on the street and Eli waving to everybody.

Wiped off a few more PO finger prints I didn't know about until just before we left for Puerto Rico. One thing done to improve performance is to remove the cats and mid pipes on late carbed models. That was done on mine and I didn't know it. A rejet is required, which wasn't done. I also had a slight leak on one float bowl. So new gaskets, too.
I only found out because I bought the 'Cylinder Head Temp' harness for the Trail Tech and pegged the head temp on a cold day. Pulled a plug and it was white. Checked the jets and they were stock, which, like the Chinese, the Russians set the bikes lean to get around US emission standards. Which would explain the three washers on the needle. Two washers was too lean, after pulling the cats, so the PO added another washer instead of rejetting. As I've learned with these beasts, baby steps when making changes. The stock set up is Keihen 130 main and 40 idle. The recommended set up is 132 main and 42 idle, with a caveat. The recommended set up is a base line and best to take it one change at a time. Some guys run 128 main and 45 stock. So I swapped out the idle jets to start. Backfiring through the carb when cold is gone and the low end feels better. So that's an improvement. Haven't gotten out on the highway to see if I need to up the main yet but that will happen sometime today.
