I bought what I thought was a main jet kit from Ebay for a vm26, but they're not quite right. They're very similar dimensions, but the thread pitch is every so slightly larger, and they don't screw in. At least they were cheap.

I've ordered a couple from Jets'r'us so we shall see,

Can I get away without taking the tank off (as per CSC manual) to remove the carb? Looks like it is tight at the top but seems to be otherwise pretty accessible. I'd prefer not to have to pull the tank every time I'm messing about with jetting.
Usually, you have to take the slide out of the carburetor when it's close to being a tight fit. If that isn't enough, loosen the carb mounting nuts, take off the one nearest to you and let the carb tilt down, the pull the slide out.....ARH

not giving up...

How about this carb? Any bets as to if it fits a TT250/229cc CG motor? Certainly looks like it has an enriching circuit, not a choke butterfly plate...

Yes I think you are correct. However, after your last experience, I'd call them up and make sure it is a VM-26, and that it has a starting circuit, and no butterfly choke......ARH

There is a reason I have not been reccomending This carb, and it is because if your low end is too lean, you have to go to a smaller carb body. If it is too rich you have to go to a larger carb. Can get expensive.
