Anatomy of a Highside Crash

I found this link while browsing another bike forum; perhaps you will find it interesting.

If you are traveling at high speed, and your rear wheel starts to skid, resist the urge to completely release the throttle.

Whoa! 8O

The ninth photo down looks like he's surfing a hover bike!

There is no substitute for good, protective, riding gear! I thought he was lucky the motorcycle did not land on him.

Amazing photography.

Good riding. Boy he tried!

It looks like he'll get creamed by the bike, but of couse he's still going/sliding just as fast as it is.

I club raced an RZ-350 for a while back at Sear's Point in Kalifornia and saw a few scary high sides, but never a serious injury. If you're going to biff, the racetrack is the best place to do it.

Pretty wild shots.

My photographer wife did not think it possible that those were still camera pictures, and figures they were 'captures' off a high res video camera. I tend to believe her, but still amazing to look at.

Glad the guy was okay, and he thought that the damage to the bike was, 'only 3k' ... ONLY 3k. 8O
