A Very "Modding" Saturday!
There it was, another perfectly good looking void in the Rhino framework that was screaming "Use me!". So, I got a couple pieces of sheet stock that a buddy gave me and put them to good use. I decided to whip out the welder and other gadgets and see what trouble I could get in to. No, I really DON'T weld...I hopefully stick two pieces of metal together every five years or so, and then rely heavily on the grinder. The best part of all of this was I got to play with a lot of tools I don't normally get out very often. Anyway, so here it is.... Got my winch mounted!

Very Professional results.
Your next buy has to be a trailer so you can pull my quad out of a hole. How much does the whole setup weigh? Good Work! |

Forgot to add how much I like the “Yuck Fou” sticker on the engine case in the raw metal pic. LOL

Thanks for noticing! Long story short, the "X-Moto" came with no actual name on the bike. Just the paperwork, since it's really just an early generation generic Hondoid. The importers sold them as anything they wanted! I kept getting asked what it was and I'd just say it's a Honda clone. Mrs 2LZ was digging through her stickers one day and found this one. She said, "Hey! That sound's Asian!"...so she stuck it to the bike and it's been the Yuck Fou ever since! LOL!

Just one word of warning for the small, HFT ATV 2500 lb winch. It works GREAT!....but the hook doesn't have a pin. It's looped on by the cable....so...you have to take a fairlead roller off to feed it through the fairlead. Henceforth, if a person (me) accidently hits rewind when first messing with the remote, the 2500 pound winch easily sucks the hook right back through the fairlead...requiring a partial disassemble to retreive it back out.
I need a winch cable washer to prevent this accident from happening again.

Pin Hitch!
Well, it looks as though my Rhino is finally done!
I was looking at anhoards angle iron hitch setup and thought I'd tinker with his great idea a bit. There is little if any, workable space back there on the 250D and Rhino (and whatever else shares this same swingarm) to really add a hitch without just zapping one on the rear end, like the Kandi quads come with. I kept in mind I just needed a pin hitch to haul my carts around, I wasn't going to be hauling any boats or mobile homes. Also, I wanted to keep it "bolt on", because I wanted it reversible or repairable, if need be. So....I dug out a hunk of 1.25" angle iron I had laying around, cut two 18" pieces and went at it. After a bunch of measuring, cutting, drilling, I got the pieces to lay where I wanted them to in the swingarm cradle. Then I fabbed an "E.T" looking piece for the pin attachment out of some old, thicker flat stock I had, placed it where I wanted it to live and then cut the angle iron pieces at the correct length. They ended up at 14.75". I used U-bolts to attach the angle iron pieces to the swingarm cross support up front and then bolted the angle iron on using the lower shock bolt toward the rear. I also had to keep in mind that I needed two access holes to loosen the top bolts for adjusting the chain. I will need to get a little longer lower shock bolt as it barely comes through enough to hit the nylon in the ny-lock nut. Then a test fit, some paint and VIOLA! Bolt-On Pin Hitch! I may get one of those bolt-on receiver adapters at a later date.

Niffity, you should at least make the hole size to accommodate a 2 inch ball, right? I know you aren't pulling boats but it would make it very versatile . I guess that's what the bolt on reliever hitch would be for (duh). Do you have a link for this? Wait, let me guess, harbor freight (I call it China harbor)
Perfect as usual lz. With that paint, looks like factory !

Handy Throttle
I installed my Handy Throttle last weekend. Worth every penny! I love it. Feels just like a real, cable driven throttle. See "product review" forum for further info.

good pic, i think the shifter quad would be more fun to operate than the auto if used for mostly pleasure. maybe not so much if it is a workhorse, utility on a farm etc but of course, it's duel purpose.
