Couldn't it run on pre-mix?

I know with some engines you can't just eliminate the injection, but can with most.

Yeah I suppose I could make a small metal plate and plug the hole left by the oil injection pump, but would prefer not to, if I can get a pump for a reasonable price.

This topic has been discussed ad nauseam on the Suzuki TS forum; some bikes (like the '70's Yamaha MX series) simply inject oil into the intake tube, between the carb and head. On those types, it's perfectly safe to block off the intake tube fitting and run premix, as long as you enlarge the main jet to compensate. The Suzuki TS uses a fancy Mikuni injector pump that splits the output between the intake stream and the left main crank bearing. Without the injector pump, the left main bearing will starve, as it is sealed outside of the crankshaft environment.

Spot on, thanks. Pump stays for sure, lol. Plus, it's just a really good system. No point in messing with it.

Nothing to report. Truck running well, and it's too cold and wet to work on anything...

Happy New Year to all!

Well dang, project is running so well, that it's boring! Although, I do have a junk yard door at the paint shop, so by mid March may have a door that isn't dented. Also, I cut the door jamb out of the one at the junk yard, so will work on that too, as the weather permits.

I got a really nice fairing for my XRL, meanwhile. I plan on putting the original XRL fairing onto the Chinese bike, and doing something about the shock on the CB too.

that's it!

Oh yeah, also, I got the truck plates and title back, no issues, this month! very happy about that. I guess buying an auction vehicle is actually pretty easy to do, but it takes time for DMV to process the paperwork between the two states. (truck was Texas, and was abandoned/impounded in Oregon)

I'll get some fairing pictures up in the next few weeks. Still have to remove/mount to both the bikes. I really dislike that weird power rangers looking fairing on the CB.

I haven't done a thing with the TC185 except go see the PO one more time and collect a few more parts, including the oil pump assembly.

Truck is running great. Coming up on first oil change. First week of June, should be able to get door painted and installed, if all goes well.
