If you do a bit of reading here:

http://www3.telus.net/MyScoot/Elite_4.html

It seems a paper clip appearing type of exhaust is the thing to do? Anyway, poke around there and see if anything jumps out at you.

I bookmarked that one. Some excellent info there.

The paperclip exhaust answers the stepped tube (theorectically) ideal four stroke design, but it also adds four elbows. Any plumber will tell you that an elbow is worth X number of feet of straight pipe. Hmmm...

At first, I'd be inclined to experiment with a stepped tube into a free-flowing silencer to see if there are gains. At the very least, you'd shed some weight.

Well step one is too have a operating scooter.

Reveen, I have been to that site already. That exhaust is probably the best concept.

I was looking to see if I could adapt a GY6 silencer with the head pipe of a stock ch150 exhaust.

Waiting to see what Bruce has in his parts bin.

I am really, well, upset (for the want of a better word) at the prices of GY6 exhaust(s). Even when constructed out of stainless, what amounts to 3' of tubing (with a bend), a laser cut flange, and a glass pack muffler, is hardly worth what some seem to be charging, no matter who sticks their name on it.

I'd make something from an old shopping cart (for the bends) and hang an "old time" glass pack shorty muffler on the end.

A person could make their own glass pack with some perforated tubing, some tube for the outer shell and a MIG welder. Glass mat is cheap at our local MX shop.

I would probably make something too.

New belt arrived from scrappydog. Looks good. It almost exactly the same length as the old belt, but 2mm wider.

Looks like the tire may arrive tomorrow.

I ordered stock Honda replacements. I should be able to get a baseline for performance then. Will probably be back in there making changes later.

Before you install them ...... weigh them (I know "normal" folks don't have gram scales, but that is how they are bought and sold... I'm *thinking* they should be about 8 grams)

....and measure them up, generic replacements are probably cheaper!

The honda parts were $16. Supposely stock is 12grams. I believe I have a scale or I will just hit up the local drug dealer.

20x15 is the size. GY6 uses 18x14.

While you're visiting the local drug lord, perhaps you can witness to him, Brother Allen. 8O

Tire made it today.
100/90-10 Michelin S1

Slightly taller than the stock sized CST 3.50-10 that was on there.

Thinking that the slightly taller will give me alittle more speed/mileage. Hopefully the Michelin will have good wear characteristics too.

Another note. Got the shipping notice on the rollers/variator nut/more exhaust gaskets. They should arrive Tuesday. Just in time for me to put it all together on Wednesday my next day off.
