Nice job. Still not worth $3500.00.

Hard to put a value on it.
Not many XL350's get restored to that level. If it was a more commonly restored model (CB175/350/500/750) there would be a precedent. I'd give maybe $2,000 for it. I know a guy from church who is also a patient. He has a group of buddies who take very long challenging rides on restored antique 'adventure' bikes. I bet this is one of his creations.

Okay, I don't surf CL much although I did find the CX there. I was bored yesterday and spotted this. http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/bik/4215228883.html
Right up my other alley.

That's really cool! You could easily hold a vintage picnic basket, replete with a lovely single malt in there.
Is it a fair price in your studied opinion?

More than fair, considering Raleigh Sports/Superbe bikes with two wheels seem to go for $400/500 around here. Although, I consider most to be worth fifty to a hundred range.
Mrs.C has already stated I can't get it. She doesn't believe in N+1.

I am an N+1 guy, especially for a good price :-)
Space is another issue though.

Is it really an XL? Even if it isn't, you could likely DS the bike and make money on it. The China motor probably has the correct 12v stator.

It's an XR.
It has a battery and a good stator and a headlight already. All it needs is a mirror, taillight and blinkers.
