WHOA!! My exhaust is here? I ordered this thing off ebay at 11pm EST 12/19 and it is here 11am on 12/21 all the way from Guangzhou CHINA. Thats not even 2 DAYS!! What in the actual hell is going on right now? At first I thought I lost a few days, or was stuck in the twilight zone until I realized. those silly Chinese have ALREADY cloned the Star Trek teleporter! Those guys can clone anything!! The GIGANORMOUS Amazon facility is only 20 minutes from my house and I don't even get stuff from there THAT fast. Craziness! BUT I LIKE IT!!

Some chains have been made of rolled steel sheet, and sheet bronze to make bushings. This is faster (and cheaper) than buying drawn steel for the rollers, and the same for drawn bronze tubing for the bushings. There are many ways to make a chain cheaper than someone else does. This the famous "Just as good as" sales pitch that has been around for most of our lives. Luckily I bought into that fairy tale only once. Sincerly, ARH

This thread is choke FULL of great info! The only downside, is the shopping list keeps getting longer and longer.....
One question: how much does a smaller rear sprocket change the length of the chain? My CB purchase will be used as a commuter 95% of the time, with very little need for a steep 1st gear. |

I don't know the exact science to links vs a tooth. When you buy the smaller sprocket just buy a factory length chain, install the new cog, push the rear tire toward the front of its adjustment and bring the chain together to figure out how many links you need to take out. Order a chain breaker along with the sprocket and chain. But I wouldn't put 500 miles on the factory sprockets then put a new chain on them. Chains and sprockets wear together. I'm going to put a new chain on the factory Brozz Sprockets but they only have 80ish miles on them so I think its ok. I'm sure there may be a better way than the way I do it. And others may chime in.

I was just thinking in terms of purchasing a new chain to install at initial setup, and putting the factory chain in the scrap bin where it belongs without even using it LOL
