Truck went to body shop! I'm heading to Alaska for 2 weeks. Will post a few pictures if/when it's done and/or if it's done right.

Alaska airlines, tomorrow... sorry, no drive this time. Still want to get my mini passport tho and drive up to prince Rupert maybe later. Wife has lupus tho and driving/riding is really hard on her. So as much as we dislike flying, at least it's over quickly.

One option for driving is to take the Port Angeles ferry from Seattle to Victoria and then drive to the northeastern tip of the island, in Port Hardy (a lovely drive). From there, you can ferry to Prince Rupert.

In Alaska! Rebuilt moms lawnmower deck, as pulley/blade tower assembly had broken off on 1 side. (Too many stumps and rocks over the years).

Rebuilt my ttr225 with new rings, cam chain, gaskets, etc. runs very well. No more smoking or scary noise!

Also, found out my 20$ xt200 (edit) has essentially the same engine, so have been borrowing parts from it. Relegated to the parts/donor bike status I'm afraid... glad I bought it tho. Serving a purpose!

Slapping mosquitoes and enjoying the temperate weather!

I've forgotten; what year is your XR donor bike?
Please show us pics of Alaska!

Donor bike is 1983 xt200. Sorry I said xr, which is actually honda. Both these bikes are yamaha. So far, front fender, chain case cover, upper timing gear and various small parts have been part of the project! So cool! I'm starting to really appreciate the engineering of this bike. Even thinking, hmmm, ttr250 street legal might be a good bike to have...

Pictures won't be happening. Mom has super slow Satellite Hughes net, with a 250mb cap so I'm avoiding anything except for texting, sorry. No phone here either. Kinda the boonies.

A TTR250 that is legal for the road would be awesome! Can you do that in Oregon or would this be an Alaska bike?

This one has no paperwork, as was bought at an auction several years ago by sisters father in law. So, thinking maybe they make a street legal version? I dunno. Have to research it a little...

Went for a good ride yesterday. No issues. Maybe a little louder than I like engine wise. Possible piston slap, which is ok. Will adjust valves today tho. Might be a noisy rocker.

http://advrider.com/index.php?thread...revive.835547/

My long bike thread covering many bike related topics, with pictures of Alaska at the end. CRF needs to get photo adding set up like ADV rider. Super easy. Photobucket is a pain.

Anyway, got a 9 hour ride in Saturday! Body feels it! Had so much fun, I didn't want to quit. Then, today, flew from Fairbanks to Seattle and then later today going to Medford. All is well! Love my TTR. Next summer, going to change rear sprocket as 1st gear is too low and higher speeds are too slow. ( edit: found an xt 50 tooth sprocket in the garage. Will replace the 58 tooth next summer) Also, going to add brake and tail light. Also new seat cover. That is about all she needs! Now, on to 4th of July celebration (although I hate fireworks) and then, some super XRL and Chinese bike trail riding in Oregon. Still have 8 weeks of summer to go!

Riding around on the Roketa today! Very hot! My truck isn't back yet, but lower panel is in and finished, door is bolted on and a blemish is being fixed in the door itself.

China Riders forum does allow direct uploading of pics. I always do it that way.
Glad you made it home safely.
