More time and energy to install. Plus when I sell the PP if the new owner wants to upgrade the instruments I'll put the little gauge on my ATV. 8)

That sounds good to me. Nice find, Doc.

Certainly. All lower rad hoses have springs inside to prevent cavitation, but I doubt that they're of hardware store spring construction. I'd just hate to see rust introduced into your engine; it seems that the plastic elbow route is risk-free.

Ahh ,,w&g I see your point, I'll keep an eye on it, but on this particular hose it had alot of bends that were in a short confined space, unlike the top hose that doc fixed ,hope it holds up!

Do you know any electricians? Maybe you can borrow an EMT bender and play with making a custom pipe out of 3/4" copper, and you could join the ends with heater hose and gear clamps. If you want a really secure joint, use stainless t-bolt clamps. They cost a little more, but you won't need many.

Another thought: Spring wire is commonly placed on the outside of rigid tube to allow you to bend it by hand. Perhaps that would allow you to make a custom bend without the kinks.

That's pretty cool. 8) May you have many more happy miles while you're the caretaker.

Rack them up, Brother Bill. You only have 39,000 more miles to ride before you catch me on my Zong.

I installed the Trail Tech temp gauge. Highly recommended. Nice small unit. No real wiring, runs off a battery. Total install time 15 minutes. Very easy and accurate. I ordered it Monday and it's on the bike today. Good service!

Thanks for the good report, Doc. From whom did you purchase the unit? Do you have any photos?

I'll take some pics. $45 directly from Trail Tech. You can use it to monitor CHT or coolant temp. Weighs maybe an ounce.

I simply used the two sided tape to put it over the inop gauge.

Simple splice into the coolant return line.
