So this is another style they sell in China. It replaces the oil plug and screen. Only $5 difference in price but hoses cannot be cut to length. I am ordering 1 of them to see if it will work out. I'll try to fit it on my bike. Their is a possibility of cutting the crimp off the hoses on one end and using a hose clamp like the ones i have currently.

That's a very nice cooler setup. That one should be able to take a thermostat.

I hate to say it, but I think an oil cooler will do a whole lot of nothing using that configuration. If you think about it, you'd have to literally have the hoses and cooler filled with oil and the oil be continually moving before any cooling can take place. How's the oil pump up into the cooler? I know the crackcase gets pressurized, but would it be enough to push the oil through the cooler? It may do more harm than good. I could be wrong though.

I wonder if the instructions say that more oil needs to be added once the unit is installed?

Whoops! Didn't realize you were designing it.

My questions are -

do you need to add more oil to compensate for the oil that's supposed to be in the cooler and lines?

How is the oil getting pushed through the cooler? Assuming the drain port has a push and draw setup Is there enough pressure to get the oil up there?

Just curious

On the hand guards - count me in

I have been running one for the last 200 miles. It warms up right away. According to my supplier they send a bunch of them to South America and the desert areas of China. I know it helped my hot shifting.....

That's not a drain port. The drain port in on the bottom of the engine. That's were the screen filter is located. The oil pump the oil through that filter.

in place of the oil screen eh? that means it would cool all the oil being fed to the engine not just a portion of it?

I like the concept of the new design better. Oil line length should be no problem. Any farm equipment dealer either can make up hydraulic hoses to order, or has a local shop that does them. Metric as well as SAE...ARH
