That would be awesome. You don't see many passenger vans with diesels.

I think you'd need to swap the computer, because it would be looking for a specific cam profile and perhaps even mass airflow. Perhaps it's best to rebuild what you have, unless you decide to go with the diesel.

We can always carb a 350. No emissions to worry about. The diesel would just make the van that much better.
We were looking at 6.2 swaps also.

I am currently watching for donar vehicle. Something with a TBI 350 to make it an easy swap.

I would guess a TBI would be easy to work with as far as sensors and electronics go.

I would like to keep it simple so that we can have the van running quickly.
He sent me an email and said that he went out and left a 3 block thick blue fog on main street. ![]() Original plan was to drive the van to Kansas. New plan is to rent a trailer and tow it to Kansas. I spotted a possible donar van for $500. Pull the engine the scrap the rest.

Watching a few possible vehicles and researching TBI mods to make the donar engine better suited for towing and mileage. I doubt it will ever rev past 3500rpm.

I just bought a used once engine hoist and a stand. The stand looks like a 750lb type. Both for $120.
![]() Looking for a donar vehicle and I plan to drive his van to Kansas at Thanksgiving with a load of t-posts and fence materials. I will also pack a jug of used oil to burn.

Good score! My hoist and stand are identical, except for the colour.

Even better. My Dad says he will pay for them.
I found a buick roadmaster with an LT1. I don't know how hard it would be to install a carb setup. Thinking a quadrajet. Simple and cheap. Stock exhaust manifolds and then a better exhaust. Probably a high flow cat. I don't like to follow vehicles without one.

I'd sell the LTI. They're desirable to the right hot rodder, and they're a strange animal. IIRC, they have a reverse-rotation water pump and parts are more cash than normal. Use the money to buy a more conventional motor.

I didn't buy the car. It was one of the options available locally. Trying to find a similar van. That covers alot of the needed swap parts in one purchase.
Picked up the hoist and stand yesterday. Also got the leveler attachment.
