Also, if you think this is crazy, I went even further before I installed my Mikuni during the assembly of my bike.
I took it out of the box, and fully disassembled it, sprayed it out, blew out the passages, and then put it and all of its bits in my ultrasonic cleaner for a couple of hours, then blew it all out again. I spent almost 3 days assembling my bike, going over every detail. This is how I discovered the loose sprocket situation, and allowed me to work up a solution before it became a problem. I believe in proactive measures and methodical approaches. I removed my tires and tubes and trued the wheels to within .1mm of lateral and vertical runout for another example. If you think it is overkill, consider that... My bike had 1400 miles put on it in it's first 6 months of riding. I have had - no broken spokes, no brake issues, no wheel bearing failures, no parts fall off or come loose, no running problems of any kind.

You've received excellent info so far, so I'll just add one comment. I've installed more than a dozen of these so-called fake Mikuni carbs on various bikes and quads, and found them all to be excellent. It always pays to take the time to properly set up the carb for your specific application and elevation.

Every bike is prone to that, however. |

Hello!
Thank's Mr Megadan you are always helping everyone. How I fix my Mikuni Carb. I removed the carb again clean it again check the float again adj needle again. Put it back on and it ran like crap worse than ever before,so back apart and put everything like it was before when one day just started running bad for no reason. Now still runs bad. I'm thinking not a carb problem.I started thinking electrical problem. While testing the coil I notice where the it bolts to the frame has paint between the coil and frame,so I sand the paint off and bolt it back up and BAM BAM BAM bad ground weak spark. Now the carb is fix. Thank's to all you guy's |

Glad you found it with the power of deduction.
I didn't even consider a bad ignition ground because I cleaned and corrosion treated all of my ground points when I assembled my bike and never thought about them again.
