Wonderfully done, young lady. You're evolving from a Sprite to a Moto-Sorceress!
Paper clips and wig pins are always to be found in my tool box for just that purpose. You have conquered a "non-normal" electrical problem that many folks would simply give up on and have a dealer take care of, quite likely for $200-300, if not more. At your leisure you can learn solder splicing then apply it to the repaired area. One step above that is to get the correct pins and make a replacement wire to have it all appear as if it never happened. BTW, did you make any new riding friends at the BRC2? |

Nice work, Sprite. You earned bonus points with the photograph of your dirty hand.
Thanks for posting the update.

Thanks Gents. It is very much a feeling of accomplishment to be able to successfully diagnose and repair the motorcycle, even though I was relying heavily on Gerry's direction. It is also helping me build confidence in doing repairs on the bike myself, though there is still tons to learn. I also appreciate all your patience here on this forum and the willingness to help by posting tutorials and answering questions.
Jay, didn't really make any new riding friends at BRC2 - the class was a lot smaller than usual (6 students total including myself). 4 were riding cruisers and the last had a Dualsport (1200GS) - we talked up bikes, but didn't talk good riding places so much. I suspect my relative inexperience might be a bit of a deterrent. *sigh* |
