I'm new to this site and to the idea of China Dirt Bikes all together. To be honest I didn't even know China being a manufacturer of Dirtbikes in the US was something new. I didn't realize until further investigation into all of it that the "Big Four" were all Japanese either. I learned a lot from this site in just a day.
I'm pretty new to the two wheel scene, and was lookin to get my first bike; but I was leaning toward a crotch rocket. My family being concerned talked me into getting a dirt bike and learning the dynamics of shifting with a clutch and riding two wheels, and getting the experience of it all before I took to the streets; so I appeased them. I couldn't bring myself to paying $2,500 for a used dirt bike though. Locally that was the cheapest I could find a 250 for. All brand Names. I searched Cycletrader, and found nothing -used or new - for anything less than 1,600 in a 50 mile radius. So I started thinking outside of brand names, and when I went to Craigslist, I found something called a Pit Bike. The pit bike was smaller than what I wanted, but I visited the site of the dealer and found just what I was looking for. VX250PR 250cc Dirt Bike with Perimeter Frame It was in the price range, the size, and color I wanted (Yeah, color matters...it might be just a practice bike, but its got to have SOME style). The site was MXmotorsports.us Obviously I was little concerned since its an internet company and I've never heard of a VIVA before. I sent them an email (they have a Wellington warehouse in FL, closer to where I live) and a representative from their Florida headquarters gave me a call. He was an awesome guy and answered all my questions. He said that all the parts are also available through them, and they had a 30 day warranty, anything broke just ship it back. Can't beat the deal I got though. A 250cc Dirt bike, brand new, for $1199.00, plus tax...and with FREE shipping?! The dirt bike should arrive sometime this week. Unfortunately I won't be there when it does, as I have a job, but when it does, I'll be sure to take pics and update you all on my progress with it, and my experience with this company which also has a California base of operations. |
