Fun with rotors

Made backing plate to attach to grinder. Spin it, lightly hold the vibrating sander on it with 80 grit twice, block with 80 grit once, block with 220 grit twice. Clean up everything else with fiberglass brush and drill. A lot to do this time but I'll have the backing plate forever. Although I'll probably never need it since I'll change the pads when they need it...

Had to take a look

Still waiting on parts and need to sort out the speedometer but really wanted to look. Final test fitting. 33mm space on the speedo side, 30mm on the brake side. One small 1mm or so washer between caliper and fork mount.

Almost done

Just finished up, got everything lined up and mounted, won't be able to ride it until tomorrow. It's sitting on a slope so hard to tell about the rake in the photos. Dropped about 2" in the front and about 1/2" in the rear. I'll have to drop the ass end a bit. Now just need to order a new speedo gear to modify to work with this wheel. Also ordering new fenders to chop up.

First long ride on the SuMo setup

Still working on the "Street Mode" setup but had a chance to take a nice long ride Sunday. It handles really good on the asphalt and was way more fun for street riding.

More fun with aluminum

I had some aluminum that I've been chopping up for various things. Currently working on removing the dirt front fender and putting a more street look on the front end. Old 19" rack shelf with some good starting holes and bends.

Lots of fitting and bending but I finally have it as good as it's getting. Now for paint. Planned on matte black but thinking about matte silver to match the body. Feel free to weigh in on the better color choice.

Street front end, painted and mounted

It's a bit shorter than I wanted but still think it looks pretty good for street setup.

Speedo Gear

The last piece of this project was to get the speedometer working. The Kawasaki piece that drives the gear was too tall and the diameter was too small. I had to stretch it open and trim it down a bit. The CSC speedo gear housing was too wide to work with the Kawasaki pieces, I had to cut the dust cap portion of it off. I haven't re-mounted the wheel yet but it seems it will work fine.

Current setup

Added the windshield and a SpeedoDRD, I guess I'm calling the SuperMoto setup done. Here it is. Everything was kept in place to easily swap back to DualSport mode, takes less than an hour.
