Wow. These low cost China bike prices are just going up and up. We should stop mentioning how reliable they are. Ha ha

My 2020 xpect was $1999

Amazon has the fuel injected Lifan X-PRO X-Pect (200cc) for $2059 today, $399 delivery. I guess that's nearly $2500. But 360 Powersports has it for $2,199, free shipping (liftgate sevice ~30), no tax (you pay at your motor vehicle at local tax rate for vehicle purchase).

So KPX 250 will probably be more like $2300, $2400, if you find the right dealer

Only time will tell. It is months away.

I was informed the price on the new 250 would be in the 2800 range at dealerships. That number is creeping close to used Hon, Yam, Kaw and Su stuff. With that being said, the used stuff in my area looks like it's been put through a slaughter house for that kind of money, often times more. Lifan seems to be built pretty damn solid, and their warranty is incredible. Plus, it is a brand new machine sitting in your garage nobody had dicked with.... A brand new 250 dual sport, 20hp, 2 years of ass covering, looks great, quality built, with a sticker in the neighborhood of 3 grand? Yeah, I'm in. Gonna be a fun Spring, I can squeeze one more Summer out of my riding mower......

OK, but that was $1999 before shipping, I'll bet. We need to do apples to apples comparisons. My $2500 price was OTD, and already assembled of course.

For the guy who is willing to do his own assembly, and an initial teardown to make sure everything that moves (swingarm, axles, steering head bearings) is greased well, the China bikes are a good deal. To me, $2800 for a 250 Xpect is reasonable at a dealer. But if I could find it cheaper online from a reputable dealer, all the better. Since the bike is not completely assembled when you get it, greasing parts can be done during the assembly process.

Exactly! I learned to sweat copper, wire breaker boxes and house wiring, put up sheetrock and tile bathrooms, floors, kitchens, and stick weld to make sure the job(s) are done right. Saving money is a bonus. Wrenching was way early on that list, and I still think it is worth the trouble. I rebuilt my 1972 Suzuki TS250 in 1976 after my friend ran it with the injection system dry for almost a week. It needed a new 2nd gear and drive shaft... all new seals, gaskets, and reassembling the two halves of the crankcase was tricky on the last step (shifter placement). No looking back!

2800 isn't bad. I hope it's around that or less, since it's going to be realistically 30 more cc than the 200. It's not a true 250, instead it's 239, do I understand that correctly?

If so I think it should be 2400 maybe 2500 and no more than 2800 all fees/shipping. The best part about the xpect200 was the awesome price. 2100. Should we pay 700 more for the extra cc?

Either way. A 250 is exciting because most of my friends dual sports are 250s. Brilliant.

I wish they would just bore it out to 300cc and maybe sell it for 2.8-3k

I wouldn't think a bit larger cylinder would cost that much and a 300 for that price seems like a game changer to me

I can’t remember if it included shipping. But it sure was assembled when it came. I didn’t do anything. I slid the handlebars on, tightened the mirrors and the grips and whatever so the handlebars could slide on and went riding.

No, according to Lifan's website, the LIfan NBS250 motor is 249.5 cc.

Here is Lifan's page on the Xpect 250. This bike is a major upgrade from the 200.

I'm bumping this back up because I just saw on Facebook that a Lifan dealer posted a picture of the new KPX250 and said they will sell them for under $3000.

There are some differences when compared to the X-Pect 250 on the international Lifan site. Mostly it's small cosmetic things like colors, but I can't tell how the front forks are different. It appears maybe the KPX does not have inverted forks.
