I used to use imageshack but now I prefer photobucket since it has more features and is yet easier to use.

I have been driving my little yellow car more lately with the gas prices and all plus I have let it sit for to long and that was bad for it also.(28,000+miles)
Fixed my "service engine soon" light which was a stuck EGR valve that I freed up and saved myself $365 bucks.

TigerTamer your light mod looks interesting but I may try another route someday on mine.

There is the possibility of HID lamps. or lower wattage driving lamps, or even using one 55 watt.

I've been looking at my diagram and even considering running both filaments in the stock headlamps for my low beams and using the signal from the high beam switch to power a relay to the driving lamps. That way I will have 70 watts to the low beams through two filaments! I can do this by switching the high and low beam wires at a convenient connector of my choosing.

As you may have guessed it is not written in stone, I'm just "thinking on-line" 8O And thanks for the info on Photobucket. I will compare services and perhaps switch. I am also an amateur photographer and like to share pics and vids

Oh, by the way, If you get a brain buster with the engine management in the Tracker, don't hesitate to give me a PM. Believe me, I've been around the block with 12 volt gremlins...the weirdest part is they sometimes end up as .5 volt gremlins

Be safe,
Tigertamer

Actually I think HID's are the way to go from what I know of them so far but very costly.

I just woke up from a nap and was hoping to go for a ride but we are covered by a small thunderstorm right now.

As far as my tracker goes.........
I have a cheap little computer interface that allows me to scan most cars from 96 to 2005 and with that I had read the codes for my trackers "service engine soon" and then did a bit of reading/research and decided I had nothing to lose by first trying to clean the EGR valve. After I cleaned the valve and reassembled I cleared the codes and all has been good since.(Its a great little car and lots of fun to drive)

I had an 87 Ford Ranger (used) the vacuum signal to the EGR was plugged with a toothpick and the EGR was like a lump of coal...That truck was so butchered-up that I turned it into a chopper! I had to rebuild a whole new vacuum system with parts scrounged I for it.

Anyways, I ran into difficulties with my mod already. I was unaware the current running through the dimmer switch was A/C I didn't torch my bike, but I will need to rectify the low beam signal to drive my lamp relay.

I haven't checked yet to see if my halogens are running off or A/C. The heat produced by a n A/C circuit is lower than an equal voltage D.C. circuit, and hence a lower burden on your generator.

Here's a demonstration of not grounding properly!

I'll let you know,
Tigertamer

I think you will be fine with them connected to the battery and only using them sporatically. The battery will be taking the load and not the stator so much. The stator just won't be able to keep the battery charged for long.

Like the other member mentioned it drains his battery to use both at once for an extended period.

slimjim503. Are you running those lights instead of the stock headlight?

That's what I suspect.

Now I have to get a rectifier to change the A/C from the dimmer switch to D.C. to trip the relay.

Who'dathunk...A/C through the switch! I gotta figure out these chinabikes 8O

Anyways, here's how they glow:

I may have to run the lamp load through the dimmer switch! I can't rectify the relay input higher than 3 volts. A 6 volt relay wouldn't even work.

It's a lot of current for the switch, but at least it's A.C., so it will run cooler.

So now I'll be taxing the switch and the stator

Slimjim503, Did you use a relay for your setup?

Yes, I might have to do that too. I always used a relay for auxiliary lighting, but I always had 12 volt D.C.. A.C. won't trip the relay. I just don't like high current in my cheap, hard to find, switch.

At least it's cooler running, and I don't intend using it that often.

I might also need to upgrade to a 7L-B battery.

Thanks for the input , Brother,
Tigertamer

My lamp problems are solved! 8O

The problem was my assumptions and a cheap Chines connector!

I assumed the brand new connector was good, and the connector was defective!

So I will share the blame with our Eastern brothers this time

Anyways, I will document my mod shortly, probably on a new thread.

I had to add a few more components to the A.C. lighting circuit. I made some notes and drawings I can share as well.

And a can keep you posted on the power excessive consumption potential!

Thanks,
Tigertamer
