Very clear, picture clear, thankyou for your time and typing Ob1. I copied and pasted your explanation into notepad, so if I loose the thread, I have the info. I might not get to do the job for a week or so.

You could also drill and tap a hole in the swingarm and install a grease zerk.

Yes Kato, I think I could. (physically able and within my limitations) but I've got so much else I want to do with the bike. I'll put it on the list. I'm making my wife's god daughter's wedding present, it's taking forever and I'm on a deadline, 3 weeks. If I get it done the sooner I'm planning a long ride. About 350km each way. When I'm not working on the gift, I'm preping and testing my bike for my trip to Sarnia. Winter is when I want to do things like tap in a swing arm zerk/nipple.

Yes, and it would be much easier if you have time to remove the swingarm and drill and tap a hole for the grease zerk. My bike came with one, but it is cheap and it needs to be replaced.
It never really gets too cold here in Atlanta, so I tend to ride year round. I grew up in the midwest winters in Iowa and Minnesota and know what it is like to have all winter to work on projects. Allen

Ok I'm bad. I haven't greased up the bike yet. With my trip coming up I would like to get it done. Moly grease has been suggested for the swing arm and axles, I have also read that any lube is better than none. I have some lithium grease, and cash is running low. Do you think I should use the Lithium? Will it be ok? What's the difference? Thanks in advance for for taking the time to answer folks. Mike/
