I've already broke one of the mounting tabs off one of the side plastics so I don't want to bend these to fit the bad bracket. It's some pretty cheap crappy plastic.

I know exactly what you mean. When I first went to install it, I thought they sent me the wrong one! It didn't seem to line up at all. But, I went very slowly during my build. It's hard to explain over a thread, but I had to first insert the tab and then (carefully) push down on the plastic while simultaneously (carefully) pulling it out so as to line up the holes on the plastic and the metal mounting bracket. I then was able to hold it in place with one hand, while I put the bolt in. Admittedly, it did take me about 3 attempts, but I got it. I can see how it would be easy to break the tab.

I'm envious you got to ride yours...we got a spell of 15 degree weather and new snow last night

I was reading over this post today,,and thought I would give a little in put on the enforcer,,,the bike seems very well made, mine has great welds, the paint and the body plastics all look good,,,it had all the hardware for assembly that was needed,,ive put about 60 miles on it so far, just a few motor hiccups'...and yes the carb is lean it will need adjusting....the only thing I see wrong with the bike and maybe it has been seem by others,,,i think the odometer is reading kilometers and no miles,,,seems to roll over really quick ...I will check this out for sure when it warms up to ride some..

Same as the Hawk. the odometer was in kilometers.

yes, I can also confirm that. When I first looked at it, I thought was MPH, but I was wrong. Sucks. I will probably want to install a digital one as soon as someone else confirms they fit (too much work involved just to find out that they don't fit).

The digital cluster is so nice. Best $95 i have spent on my Hawk. And you all know how cheap I am.

My brother just ordered one too, this past Friday or Saturday. He was told the only color Texas had was Black, which he didn't want. His just shipped today from the California warehouse...he got red too. His first choice was green...not sure what's up with the greens, but he was also told the green was not available.

i think im in the running for the next "cheap bastard" trophy. i wasnt going to get the digital cluster cause i didnt care if it was off or not(nah just cheap) but the odometer just stopped turning and i need one to know how far to go out into the wilderness befor turning around so i ordered one reluctantly(cheap bastard).

Hey JerryHawk250, I did contact the guy with the cluster. I might be the first on here to see if this works. Quick question...I watched a YouTube video and it shows that you have to remove the gas tank to install the wiring for the new cluster. Is this correct? I thought it was just a matter of bolting it on with the three mounting bolts and hiking up the new speedo, no?

You have to pull the tank off to run the wire harness to the battery and gear shift wire harness.

Even with taking the gas tank off it's less than an hour job installing the new cluster. No big deal at all.

Perfect time to inspect the wiring and tape anything that looks inadequate, and throw a coat or 2 of paste wax on the tank while you have it off
