Is that a Q?
I'm not familar with 250cc Konkers. Either way it may be a good, or great deal.

That's exactly how I would build it, except for those pipes.

Is it? You would butcher a hard tail onto probably one of the best handling motorcycles ever made, doing away with the separate/unitized engine/rear suspension mounting (40 years before the idea occurred to Harley Davidson), and removing the spin-on oil filter because it wasn't "pretty"? You "really" want to know the first 2 things you would do if you owned that motorcycle is somewhat stock configuration? You would install electronic ignition, and lose the Amal carbs. |

I'd never cut up a piece of history. I'd build a rigid frame like that just for cruising around town a little, using cast-off parts.
All I'm saying is that I appreciate the look. If I find a narrow enough engine for cheap or free, I'll create something similar with forward controls. I've been considering an XS650 engine (post '80), because I had one as a kid. BTW, I like spin-on oil filters.

Now, now. Be nice.
![]() I'm torn between street trackers and bobbers when I look at XS650's. This site only makes it harder for me: http://vintagedirtbikes.blogspot.com...ha-xs-650.html

My misguided younger brother actually likes them. I owned one in the late 70's, for about 15 minutes, came in on a trade, and a young fella I had working for me wanted it. How about the 650's bigger brother: 1973-1974 Yamaha TX750 http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/mo...aha-TX750.aspx (The 1973 bikes all blew up if you revved them at idle as the rotating mass frothed the oil and the pump wouldn't pump it. ) |

That's a bit of history I didn't know. I can certainly see where the early XS650 emulated British bikes, but mine was a '79, and it was after the wannabe Harley rider IMHO. I never had the pleasure of experiencing a British bike.
Back on topic, here's an interesting CL opportunity: http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/pm...298646204.html

I put two items on CL today and within minutes the spammers struck. One wanted my address and PayPal account so they could deposit money in it for the merchandise and have it shipped. Didn't mention what the item was I was selling. I deleted the two items immediately. No more CL for me.

Not Just CL Anymore - I have a guy who keeps e-mailing my CO E-mail addressSaying he want 7 Laptops fixed and reloaded. He said he was sending a check first to cover eveything and wanted me to deposit it immediately. He won't provide any details on him or his so called company. Crazy huh? Needless to say he has been blocked from our list but continues to e-mail us daily, asking if we got the check, and if it was deposited etc....even after we said thanks but no thanks! There's some real crazys out there, and the sadpart is there are people who fall for this crap!.......SELL Ebay at least your protected for the most part if you use paypal. Alot safer......just my 2 cents.
