As much as I'm completely against most 'mandatory' government intervention, the MSF courses are a good idea, especially if someone is starting so late in life on a full-sized bike.

Ten years ago, Mrs 2LZ had 6 months of "2LZ Training" inside a closed environment, then, she's taken and smoked both the beginning and advanced MSF courses. I wanted as much going for her as possible.
The courses here are NOT cheap and are always booked solid. Usually a 6+month waiting list.

I'm sure a good chunk of us here have been riding since we were quite young and started on much smaller bikes, working our way up through the ranks. Always the best way...........

Good Job 2lz! I've been riding for 30 yrs. If someone told me to go buy a 400 or bigger for my first bike and I NEVER RODE....I'd be a bit worried.
I grew up riding with my first Home Made Mini Bike back in probably 72 and went up thru the ranks graduating on to bigger better faster....Now I'm actually going backwards at 46 yrs old....WTF????? LOL
