Got my registration, insurance, and permit. It only took 3 hrs at the DMV and there was no one there. Went for a long ride this afternoon loved it. Bike is still idling high, I think it may be an air leak.

Great news! Have you tried turning the idle screw down?

Yes I tried to mess with it a little. My dad and uncle looked at it tonight and they both think it's an air leak on the rubber piece comnecring the carb to the barrel I'm gonna order a new one for 12 bucks and go from there. I don't want to create more issues buy continuous changing of the screw.

I have a question on tire pressure. I can't seem to google this answer. What should my tire pressure be about with street tires on the bike, is it different b/c they are not for dirt.

What pressure are the tires rated for?

28F/32R is a good general ballpark I use if no other data is available.

See that's what I thought the tires say 40psi on them. Does that sound high to anyone

That's the maximum pressure which will likely be much higher than the correct running pressure.

Does anyone have a diagram of the pz30 carb. I have taken it off the bike again and have it apart on the workbench. I would like to know a little more about it.

I don't have a diagram, but I have a PZ30 here. What would you like to know?

Is the screw with the spring on it, on the otherside of the carb from the choke the idle screw? Featured in the first carb picture on page 1.

Definitely. If you remove the slider, you'll see how it has a ramp at the bottom that the idle screw engages with. Basically, turning that screw in is the same as holding the throttle open a little.

Got it. It idles and runs better. Still a little funky, it surges, it idles fine for a moment and then surges up and when I adjust the screw back down it idles too slow and dies. I cannot seem to find a perfect setting.

Blame it on the PZ30. I've had waaay better luck with the 30mm Mikuni, and they're less than $40, including shipping.
