Installed the Mikuni vm26 today . 125 main , 30 pilot , needle clip in center slot, & air screw at 1 1/2 out from bottom. Air screw needs a little tweaking yet . But with Unifilter open air box & pipe she's running pretty good . Really needed the 30pilot .
Thanks all for advice , guidence , and experince .

Carb is done!
Installed Mikuni (or ebay clone thereof) vm26. Needle clip in the center slot. 1 1/2 turns out on the bottom air screw. 30 pilot jet. 120 main jet. No more high rpm stumble. Cruised up to 55 even with stiff head wind. Not trying to push high mph until I get a lot more miles on it. 160 miles now. Air box mod. Gutted cat. 92 octane fuel. Thank you everyone!

i don't know why you fella's stick these rubbish carbs on yer bikes
the motor will never be what it could be with them.. The OKO / Koso flat slide carbs are only a few dollars more.. The OKO are a bit more but the Koso copy are cheap.. I have a OKO on my Montesa 348 & a Koso on the TTR and there is no notaicable diffrents between them in either build or preformance.. smooth bore with no casing lumps to cock up the air flow & polished.. Pete .
I hear what your saying . I did spend a few hours polishing the main bore on my Vm26 before installing. I did notice rough casting . I used to port and polish quite often back in the day . Took awhile to find my little tool box of goodies. But once I did the bore on mine now is almost chrome . Next air filter change I will see if I can get pix to turn out for ya . If I would have done more research or at all I would have went with a better carb. Getting a motor to breath and exhale are well known in my thought patterns . Stock gearing , not broke in and power on wheelies in 2 gears . I am pretty impressed with power already . My lawn and driveway are less than impressed though
