All you fellas have gotta do is ask me.

I pop into Saga on a semi-regular basis, and I'll be happy to check for rad hoses for the XY. Anything else?

I would certainly try plastic elbows, but I'd search for thick walled pieces. See if you can get specs on them, because they might see temps North of 230 degrees F.

I will totally keep that in mind, Weld! Thanks. Right now I don't think I need anything. 8)

That is a fine looking steed, Doc! ...and yes to your comments on the CB is not for the non-mechanic kinda guy. Ya gotta know what you're getting into, for sure.
One of the reasons I like them also. In non-riding or foul weather times, you can always make it better somehow by tinkering.....and they most definitely need to be run....and it seems they do have a dendency to 'self-heal' with miles.

That tach/speedo setup is like the Q, as Andrew pointed out. My odometer reads in Km's. I'm sure that one does also?

So far, that looks like a very fun unit! Tha gas mileage though....ouch! Maybe the carb is just set up to rich? Check the plug yet? Maybe the enricher is hanging up?

The speedo and odometer are in MPH! Go figure!

In fairness the poor mileage was at nearly full throttle 70 MPH into a decent headwind. Around town and on the trail it seems to get closer to 50.

I would be inclined to use copper. Combo auto parts/home depot run.

Eyeballing the hoses I bet an off the shelf hose can m=be manipulated to fit without kinks. I'd try first, and if it kinks the copper elbows sound like a fine idea, if theyt are made in a size that works.

Oh the challenge of CB ownership! I love it!

well weld, please check on a bottom rad. hose i'm sure the cost to buy and then ship to PA would probably make it a bad idea tho.

In medical terms that hose does look pre-terminal. I checked mine it seems fine, for now, but it also looks like a regular properly sized hearter hose would work.

WaG's laconic statement is profoundly true. With the possible exceptions of the Zongshen 200GY-2, and the QLink 200cc motorcycles, most chinabikes require lots of loctite, replacement rubber, and TLC before they settle down into reliable service. Replacement parts are also more difficult to acquire for Chinese motorcycles, and aftermarket support for these bikes is practically nonexistent. In addition, plan to do all your own maintenance; most motorcycle shops won't touch a Chinese motorcycle.

For all these reasons, one should do diligent research before buying any Chinese motorcycle. However, if you have a good sense of humor, and you are willing, and able, to do the extra work, you can find some excellent deals on Chinese motorcycles. Nevertheless, once the price approaches $2,000 USD, I believe everyone is better off purchasing a low-mileage, used, Japanese motorcycle instead of a Chinese motorcycle.

P.S. If you reduce your photograph's size by 50 percent, this thread will be much easier to read, Fish.
