I don't have a solution to the neutral issue, but can confirm that it's much easier with the engine off. I would hazard a guess that it's something electrical tied to the neutral selector cable, as my problem was temporarily remediated when I replaced that cable under warranty.

For the record, changing my oil today made a nice difference in it going into neutral . Lots easier but still not as smooth as my nc700x, rj

https://apfco.net/secure/R8236W/Home/Entry I can't resist the price of $6.22/gallon, so I am going to stock up with 5 more gallons of Mobil Delvac 1300. The rebate limits you to 5 gallon jugs per household.

Changed my oil for the first time on this bike at 490 miles.
Oil is pretty black and the drain plug had a good amount of "metal paste" attached. Both screens were clean save a few small metal flecks and a little bit of gasket material. The filter looked pretty dark as well like it collected fine metal too. The oil smelled a lot like gas so I'm sending a sample to get it checked in another 500 miles. I used the maxima 10w40 that CSC sells for this change. I'd recommend dumping that oil at 100-200 miles vs 500. Also changed the sprocket to 13T and adjusted the chain to 1 1/4 inch of slack and the bike is shifting butter smooth now with zero issues with neutral (didn't really have any neutral issues but the shifting was notchy). |

Just out of curiosity, which of your bikes seem to find you in the saddle most? |

The last several days I have been shifting into neutral easily while the engine is running. It has been about 850 miles since the last oil change with Mobil Delvac 1300.

OK boys and girls, I'd like some opinions...
remember I live in a third world city, on a third world Island, in a third world Country so my availability to stuff is limited I was shopping for the Mobil Delvac 1300 oil yesterday and of course "no stock Sir" as they say here. I can get Mobil Delvac MX, 15-40, regular type, non synthetic. This is what I use in my Toyota Tamaraw FX, 2 liter diesel. Or Mobil Delvac 1, 5-40, fully Synthetic at a price of Php 750 per liter (about $17.44), and Php 3,750 (about $87.20) for 5 liters. I'm sure the Mobil Delvac 1, 5-40 would be fine, I can't see much diff. in the 5 or 15 rating in my case, it's never cold here, we run 80's to 90's Fahrenheit, 76 degrees is "COLD" here . But that seems like a very high price for an oil, $17.44 per liter compared to the Php 180.00 ($4.18) for four stroke motorcycle oil. If the Mobil Delvac was twice the price I'd do it but at 4 times, OH WOW BABY!!! I typically change my oil in the car and bikes every 3000 miles or about 4,800 Kilometers. With my usual riding that puts me at about every eight weeks to 10 weeks doing an oil change. And I should be riding even more. On my limited and fixed income, I'm going to really have to justify the expense . Do you guy's really think that the positive results can justify the expense?
