Mine did the same thing that screw running horizontally in the bottom side of the fuel bowl is a drain valve. All you need to do it screw it in.

Thanks Spins you helped me figure it out! I recorded this before reading your message Bill_Hilly, but that's exactly what I did. I adjusted the RPM to about 1.5 at the moment, any one recommend a good idle setting?

Anyway long story short, I just took my bike for a cold ass ride... 12 degrees outside haha. I made sure it was warmed up first.

I took mine for a ride the day I put it together, and it was really cold, and I didn't wear gloves, and that is the first time since I was a kid coming in the warm house, after playing in the snow, and making snowballs with bare hands, that I have had that kind of pain in my fingers. LOL. My fingers were completely numb after that ride, to the point I couldn't even feel the clutch ,and front brake levers, but when they warmed back up the real agony began.LOL. Lesson learnt though.

I’m glad a few turns of a screw was all it needed. Now you can sleep better tonight.

1500 rpm’s idle is what I run, never any issues .

Recon Green out of the Crate

Well after returning from visiting the in-law. I needed some me time.
I pulled the Green Recon out of the box and started disassembly to Loctite everything. I was surprised as I found several loose nuts and bolts and one stripped bolt. I mean ready to fall off loose. My 2018 came with everything snugged down well. I’ll have to take a Dremel to the kickstand and kick starter to move them out of the wall more. Things I tweaked on my other bike and forgot about. I did see a issue with the passenger foot peg on the left side. Seems to stick way out definitely not correct.

The Green does look nice!! My friends gonna be happy.

FYI, I did check the drain screw on the carbs bowl. Mine was open as well . I’m not sure why they are not tightening this screw down. I’m not planing on even starting the bike with this carb, but thought I’d check.

What bolts were loose on the bike ? I used blue LocTite on mine, but only what I assembled. I didn't disassemble anything that was already assembled.

No my friend. You need to check everything!
Seat nuts fell off in my hand. Screws that hold the rear brake light assembly,
exhaust heat shield screws, skid plate.
side plates, screws under the seat , etc!
Did you remove your seat? Your alarm and control box are not secured down? Clean the painted tray and peal the double sided adhesive and stick them. If you look in the last pics I posted you’ll see them out of the tray in one pic and inside on the other.

I did remove the rear brake light assembly, and seat, and did stick the remote, and alarm components in place. I was following the video of Jeff from Peace Sports assembling a 2020, and I pretty much did as in the video. I will go around, and check some bolts early tomorrow , because the weather is going to be a little warmer most of the week, and I intended to get some riding in.

Also note; the cotter pins on the foot pegs are garbage.

I’ve never had an issue with my old ones . I’ve had them out several times working on other peg options.

Same here, no issues with the cotter pins, but that damn shifter bolt, the head snapped off.. i just kept it as is for now as i wont have to worry about it falling off as is and will just drill it out if i ever need to remove the shifter

Oh don’t get me started on that bolt!
Mine never tightened and stripped right away . I ended up taking a dremel and drill to get it out. Then drilled the threads out and put a bolt and nut on it and called it a day. Not the prettiest but has never given me any issues .

I don't have enough miles on my bike to know if my shifter will ever come loose, but it is definitely not a good fit for my foot it contacts my foot too far back. It makes my foot sore unless I wear my heavy boots. It just barely contacts my foot about an inch, and a half back from were my big toe meets my foot, and even then it's almost on the side of my foot rather than the top.
