A minor setback today, but not the end of the world. The swelling hasn't gone down enough yet for me to ditch the aircast. The fact that it's in the mid nineties here and I work in an unair conditioned environment is not helping. Though, I was told that I could start wearing shoes around the house in the evening. If things improve by next Wednesday, I can finally ditch the cast for good.

In the meantime, I've been researching how to do the diesel bike project. Which comes after the mini bike, which comes after the Toro.

Since you are still swollen ,you should probably stay home in your garage and get a few projects completed .

Agreed, but it is ungodly hot in my garage right now. Also, the air cast is plastic and might become very melty while using the plasma cutter.

That low buck AC unit has a very good chance of getting built this evening. I think the only thing that needs to be bought is an elbow.

I was thinking the same thing. I might even pick up another cooler at the thrift store.

I heard that you guys had several humidex warnings in a row. It's just awful when it gets like that in The Big Smoke; I bet you're glad you don't live in the GTA.

It's been very hot here for about the last month .My son and I put in a few pools a year ,and we did a pool that should of been filling in three days ,and it honestly took us 7 days .We did a fairly simple 16x36 deck 5 feet off the ground ,should of been a day drilling holes and pouring concrete ,then pretty much frame and deck it the next day ,,well that got milked to 4 days .I hate working when my glasses are sliding off of my face .One good thing with the heat is we can repair ,paint ,and sell a canoe in under a day while it usually takes a day for the paint to harden .The other day I refurbed 5 canoes ,I have never done that myself in a day before .

I just did the conversion ,it was 38c here which is 100.4f with the humid ex ,that's pretty hot where I live ,it's not uncommon for us to be -35 to -45 in the winter so it's a pretty big swing .

I'm going to try to go boot free today. It's time for the annual Northern Illinois Steam Show and I want to be there. http://www.threshingbee.org/ Coal smoke, wood smoke, hit n miss engines, tractors and roast sweet corn. A root beer float doesn't sound too bad, either. It also rained yesterday, so parts of the grounds will be a mud pit. Another reason to ditch the boot.

The low buck AC unit didn't get built last night. It was too hot. Actually, the only fan I could scrounge at the shop was a 24 volt unit. It runs on 12, but not fast enough for any significant air flow. Menards has a 5VDC USB/AC fan for around eight bucks. I also have a 15V solar panel that I use for trickle charging the popup battery while we're camping. That, and a small DC voltage regulator, which I also have, and I'm golden. Mrs. B was easily sold on the project because she gets a new cooler.

We are leaving Monday for the Butterfield Minnesota Threshing Bee. We made it last year as they were featuring Fords. I brought my 1969 Ford 120 and we got noted as the exhibitor who came the furthest. Dad brought his one of his cubs.
