Now that's just going too far!

HOUSTON — A Houston strip club that opened its doors at midnight Thursday night as a "restaurant with entertainment" was shut down only 15 minutes later by Houston police and the fire marshal.

Authorities turned off the music at the club and put a halt to the show as they tried to determine if the facility had the proper permits to operate as a full service restaurant.

Just a little update on the sickness. This is day 7 for me and day 15 for Heather. This is the first day she's shown some improvement and acting like herself. I pleaded with her to go to the hospital several times because she was deathly sick and fighting a high fever for a couple of weeks. But no fever this morning, breathing better and says she's just tired now.

My symptoms are still surprisingly mild a week into it. Slight fever now and then, haven't been coughing the last couple of days, and some chest congestion that I'm taking mucinex for. Both of us have been drinking pedialyte and Gatorade and lots of water. She was so sick she lost her appetite, wish I had that trouble lol. We've still been keeping to ourselves and warning folks not to stop by. Hopefully she's through the worst of it and me, I've had colds worse than this.

The Covid-19 Weight Gain Program

I've always been the grill master (well, not like roundhouse), but Mrs. 2LZ has always been the kitchen wizard in our home. Not-no-mo.

Since she has been working full-time from home and has converted our little loft into her office, my duties have had to adjust and that includes the bulk of the cooking.

Part of the problem is since we don't go to the store near as often now, it's "use what you got", so as part of the lock-down, my cooking skills have gone into imagination mode.

Here was last nights creation. Took a frozen Stouffers Mac and Cheese, baked it in the oven. During those 75 minutes, I steamed a head of broccoli and fried up a half pound of chopped up bacon. Then, I whipped it all together, sprinkled some dried Italian blend cheeses on top and stuck it back in the oven for five more minutes.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tell you what. I will be glad when the restrictions are over. It will give me time to slow down. We have been going more now than ever before. There are loopholes everywhere in their stupid stay at home crap. Stay at home but go to the grocery store. Stay inside but go for a hike. I took them at their word. Go to restaurants but get takeout. They didn't say it had to be close to you. I drove 145 miles to eat at a convenience store. Wink wink. And by the way...the restrictions were not to stop the virus. It was to slow it to not overwhelm hospitals. Boy did that backfire. Hospitals in my area have had to lay people off they were so slow. It only hit bad in a couple of spots. A lot of people I know had it in January and didn't know it. That was before all the lock down hit. We just got sick a few days and went on. Watch this. It was made a long time ago but really fits with today.

Another update on the sickness. This is day 17 for me and day 26 for Heather I believe. The first 13 days my symptoms were pretty mild and I even thought I had it licked. But then the nasty little bug decided to turn up the heat, literally. The last few days have been hell, severe chest congestion, coughing, headache, high fever, sore throat, and generally feeling like I'm not getting enough oxygen. Spent the last couple of nights sleeping sitting up in the recliner just so I could breathe.

I been eating mucinex like candy and switching back and forth between ibuprofen and tylenol to combat the fever. Poor Heather isn't much better, she's wore out and weak from fighting it for almost a month. I can see why it's killing the elderly. Flu symptoms are worse but it's generally over in a week, rather than attacking you for a month. I wanted to go for a ride yesterday just to get outside, but I felt too bad to do much of anything. Stay strong folks.

The local airplane museum conducted a flyover with classic war birds, to honor our health workers yesterday. The altitude of the 10 planes made it difficult to distinguish a Corsair from a T-28. BUT, the sound of those radial engines convinced you that you were not watching Cessnas and Pipers.

Can't wait.... Been a long wait for us NASCAR fans. Going to be dumping rain here on Sunday so it'll be a good day to watch and swill beer.

The annual Jeep Topless weekend is today and tomorrow. We will be seeing a lot of tricked out jeeps, as well as vintage jeeps. Our jeep is box stock.
