This thread is exactly how I got sucked into buying one. (Which I do NOT regret.)

Installed a Nibbi 30mm carb today. I did not rejet the stock carb as was my plan only because it's a bit tight sliding it out the right side passed the exhaust and I already had the Nibbi. What I can say is that compared to the stock setup with its obviously lean condition this was a game changer. The clean idle and snappy throttle response are wonderful. Adding a pic of a log hop I tried since it's running so nice, this log is part of our obstacle course and I was quite pleased with how this little bike handled it. Please don't flame me for no helmet/gear, I was just putting the bike away this evening and was tempted into a spin around the field, I normally wear full gear.

Nice action shots! This makes me feel a little better. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda worried that this bike won't have enough torque to feel exciting.

Not sure if this has been on here before, but I found that a paint can opener works great for adjusting the clickers on the top of the forks. Not a lot of room under the bars...

Hey all been following this thread for a while now, I just went with the egl250 pro k which has the 172fm engine as well so far I have rejetted and got it just about right and just got it street legal to make it from trail to trail. Regeared from 13 front to a 15 and fabricated a baffle to tone it down a little for Smokey the bear

Is that a cat-less exhaust?

Its definitely loud especially on 55-60mph roads where you need to be pegged. I found that foam ear plugs are the best solution.. paired with in-helmet b/t comm/speakers, it works great, can ride for hours on end with no issues from noise, my butt on the 2x4 thats a different story, but love to stand when needed to stretch the legs and relieve any discomfort from sitting too long

In stock gearing 13/49 it should feel quite torquey and fun.. most re-gear to get more usable top-end on the street.. 14/49 works great for me as a nice balance.. remove the cat and jet the carb right and you'll get all the power you need esp offroad where too much can be a detriment

I don't want to mislead you, it's all about expectations and what your used to. I ride a Beta 300rr for singletrack riding and Gasgas TXT for trials so I wasn't looking for performance as that is already covered. This bike is for use as a runabout and light dualsport exploring and so far it seems quite adequate. It is only 20hp, it's not going to lift the front end on a snap of throttle or pull your arms out under acceleration. That being said it is plenty torquey to have some fun with, think mid eighties Honda xr/xl 185-200 for a performance idea.
