HELP Zongshen LZX200 wont start!

g'day guys, i bought this bike off a mate, he rekons it was screaming when he started it, and wouldnt idle..
so i took it all apart, pulled the carby, fully cleaned it, put every thign back together, made sure the needle, and slide was in the correct position,
and now it just wont start..its kicked a tiiiny bit twice in 2 days...
It has a spark, it has air, and the exhaust isnt obstructed, and its getting fuel (i pulled the plugs a few times and it was wet and black) so im absolutely stumped...
it has a 'sheng wey' carby.

how far out do i unscrew the idle screw, and how far out do i unscrew the fuel/air mixture...

any other tips? this is reeeally frustrating...

Don't worry too much about the idle screw until it runs. The idle screw is only opening the throttle slightly; you can do that manually.

Tighten the air / fuel screw in gently (counting the number of turns), and back it out 1.5 and try again.

Have you replaced the spark plug? The stockers are junk; go with a genuine NGK.

Just to be sure fuel is actually passing through the carb, drain the bowel with the drain screw at the base of the carb. If that runs freely, you defiantly have fuel. I know you think you have fuel but this will make sure.

I am not sure you can get that bike to run with a stone dead battery, i would like other opinions on that.

I'm not sure but I believe that engine doesn't have a self-generating CDI system as per usual on small Chinese bikes. They're sometimes referred to as "AC-CDI". They have a high voltage coil in the magneto that charges up a capacitor in the CDI unit. Bikes equipped with this type of system will run even with no battery at all.

Like my Qingqi, it might have a "DC-CDI", that is better called an ignitor or igniter. This draws its power directly from the battery's 12 VoltsDC. A discharged battery will mean no go.

dont worry guys, all fixed, was a combination of tight valves, blocked pilot jet, and a rubbish spark plug..thanks for all your help

My Zong just passed 18,000 miles on the odometer.

I have needed to adjust a tight intake valve twice, over the last 4,000 miles.

If your motorcycle is difficult to start, check the compression.

If the compression is low, check the valve clearance.
