TaoTao TForce 125

Just received my shipping confirmation for a TaoTao TForce 125. Couldn’t justify a name brand kids quad that they would out grow in just a few years. Can’t wait to get it and have the following already set out:

10-40W engine oil
New NGK spark plug
Blue Locktite
Split pin set to replace the thin ones that come with the ATV
Mini-blade fuse holder to replace the glass fuse.

Anything else for the out of the crate build?

Here's what I did with all three of my units.

- Drain the oil that it is shipped with, replace with good oil
- assemble the dirtbike/ATV , then check all the bolts, & use blue loctite
- Drain/flush brake fluid with Good DOT 3/4
- Adjust the chain tension, make sure sprockets are in line, & lube the chain
- I do a heat cycle, start the unit let it idle for about 10-15 minutes, shut it down, let cool, then do a couple easy ride cycles, & change the oil again.
- An additional service I am going to do is lube the brake, clutch, and throttle cables.

Expect to spend a few hours going though the bike, don't rush take your time.

- After the first good ride I check all the bolts, and check the chain tension again.

Thx, forgot about the brake fluid, but Havel plenty of synthetic for my bikes. Will definitely check sprocket alignment and chain tension. Haven’t thought of the cables either and will have to find my cable luber.

Finally got to ride her tonight. Fit and finish is as expected, actually impressed a little. The thing has a decent turning radius and decent power to not even be broken in yet. Notes:

1: Make sure to drain the engine oil, flush and fill with quality lube. Lots of casting debris and metal shavings came out, plus that oil has an almost varnish smell to it.

2: you will need all your metric sockets and tools... bolt heads 10mm and nuts 13mm. The good point is the nuts we’re all nylon lock nuts.

3: make sure to have your valve stem tool handy as all but one were loose out of the box.

4: idle speed wasn’t set correctly and needed to be adjusted.

5: get out and ride the mess out of it!

Sorry for the delay as work has gotten in the way of play time. Over all I am very happy with the purchase. I’m considering adding a full size 200 based off this purchase. The parts are super cheap and everything is easy to access for repair. Plan now is to beat the snot out of it this summer. Will shoot some pics tomorrow.

Couple photos... changed oil at 0.5 hours, and wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. It is something I highly suggest doing though as it was as dark as my XT225 after 1000 miles. Idle speed was way too low and got that set. Now have about 1.2 hours on it and the thing runs like a scalded dog! Question, how to I post photos from my iPhone?

assembly fixes

I always use some silicone on the brake light switch so the plastic nut do not come loose... and the chrome inspection covers on the left side.... and the chrome cover on the tight side for the clutch adjustment ... I put just a smear on so it does not vibrate loose..

5 hour oil change.. lots of debris (grey rtv, some alum flashing, and the oil was dark and shiny). Definitely glad I purchased a magnetic drain plug and decided to change at the 5 hour mark. Going to change it a 10hrs to see what comes out then. Still runs like a champ, but going to do a full tightness check, wheel bearing lube and chain tension check.

Failed Battery

Original battery made it 7.2 hours before failure. First photo is the battery with the switch on and then second is when trying to start.
