My $28.00 Suzuki steel OEM Ts125ERN 44Tooth/428 rear sprocket #644511-48001, I've had this sitting around for a few weeks and hopefully tomorrow I will get a start on installing it on my bike. Lately it seems that I am expriencing the "china bike parts wait" for my rear disc conversion that is. I ordered a new rear sprocket that is for the honda clone wheel in March and it is expected to arrive around the first week of June, so the whole rear disc on a Q is going to have to wait for a while. As in my previous post I have done the 16T counter shaft install and jetting changes now we'll see what kinda of impact the new gearing change will have. I'll take a few pic's as things progress.

I'm currently awaiting the arrival of my 44 rear also, Trevort....but I had to go with the 'higher-priced-spread" as the 3 Suzuki dealers I contacted here wanted NOTHING to do with anything even slightly dated. :x

I can't wait to try it with both the 16 and 44 together. Should settle it down on the commute ride nicely at an average of 50 mph.

Lower R's at speed.....some upgrades for breathing, I'm hoping will increase the MPG also. Just have to calculate it off of KPH! :?

I was looking at the new Suzuki sprocket and kept noticing how much it looks like a Yamaha rear, so I tried a few on the Q's wheel and what do you know they almost fit. Same bolt pattern



I know that what could be used is the Yamaha 78-81 Dt or Mx 125/175 428 chain rear sprockets, you would have to machine a very small amount from the cnter and you have a sprocket. Or better yet machine the rear wheel and use the better/wider selection of gearing that is available for the Yamaha bikes.

So after a few test runs with the GPS in tow, 5th gear is now an overdrive and I topped out at exactly 120kms on the speedo, that's 76mph on the GPS

Andrew I would be very interested to see how your bike with the full pro curcuit exhaust would perform with the 44T rear sprocket also 2LZ's bike when his sprocket comes in the mail. So far as to how the new gearing swap is working 4th gear will take the bike to about 63-64mph before you feel like you need to shift into 5th. I have found a 78 Yamaha Dt175 42 and 37 tooth rear sprocket from Dennis Kirk for $18 and with very little machining they will fit the Q bike. I am thinking of ordered the 42T to see how it would perform

Andrew....I contacted our buddy Mike @ jetsrus. It's pricier....and aluminum....but this is where I oredered mine.
Got tired of trying to dig one out of Suzuki and hit up Mike for assistance.

I talked to this dealer before and the only reason I didn't choose them was because my small local Suzuki shop could get me the same sprocket for about $10.00 less, $28 vs $39 for the same item. I beliave that I can bolt my stock Q link rear sprocket to a Dt Yamaha one and simply use the osillating drum sander to remove the tiny amount of metal from the inside diameter of the Yamaha sprocket, the bolt pattern is exactly the same and it is a 428 chain sprocket as needed. I will try this meathod with an old 49T Dt sprocket I have and the old Q one to prove my point.

Trev - Dumb Ace question - How many links WAS your chain? I located the sprocket - But I also want to purchase a NEW chain to go with it - Shorter of course - I guess I should ask it this way -

How many links is your chain currently with the 44t sprocket?

How many KMs on your old sprocket? It's looks badly worn to me. Your new sprocket looks much better.

Just got my 44T Rear Sproket today - Awaiting the shorter chain, Should be here in the next couple days.....The We'll see......Hmmmm can't wait to see what she does. Hopen to find 4th and 5th gear alittle smoother. Time will tell. I will report back when I get these on.

Jiminy Kristmas! When did you order that sprocket, who did you order it from and how much was it!?
I'm STILL waiting on my 44 toother and I ordered it on the 14th! :evil:

The sprocket that I have on my Q I just walked into my local Suzuki dealer and he ordered the sprocket for me, it took less than a week to come in. As for Andrews question: I don't really know, guess I'm going to have to go out to the garage and start counting chain links. After driving the bike back and fourth to work for the past three days I find that if I shift into 5th gear early like around 40-45mph, the bike really bogs down it doesn't want to be in that gear until like 55-60mph range. On average I cruise around at 65mph and I'm not working the engine hard or revving the hell out of it. The roadside radar on the speed enforcement sign has got me at 75mph for my top speed, I know that this isnt an exact science here, but the GPS also is reading onlt a +1mph difference form my stock speedo
