08 XF200 parts and oil change help?

Just picked up a 08 QLINK XF200 with 77 miles. It appears the oil has never been changed. I had to pry the oil filter cap off with a small screwdriver! Once I got it off, the paper gasket that surrounds the large rubber o-ring came apart in pieces. I see the part listed as 12365-GS66-0000. I checked the DR200 schematics and don't see it. Is ordering it from jpmotorsports the best thing to do? I needed a clutch cable so I ordered that from the local Suzuki dealer from a 200SE. I hope that matches, it looked really close. I couldn't match up a throttle cable from 2 local shops. Even though it's low mileage, I wanted fresh cables. All of mine looked pretty rough from sitting so long.

Any help is appreciated!

Hall

Congratulations on acquiring a very nice motorcycle! The QLink owners should be along shortly to provide you with the definitive answers.

I don't recally my Q's using or needing a paper gasket. If there's the appropiate O-ring you're good to go.

Mine either. I've seen some with but I've never had a leak. Just rub some new oil on the O-ring like you do with a spin-on oil filter and you're good to go.

Don't know much about the cables, though. I do know that a speedo cable for a DR200 fits. You might be able to find a bicycle cable that matches as the ends are quite similar. I used one on a jetski when I switched to a finger throttle and it held up fine.

Thanks for the replies. I thought the paper gasket around the o-ring was a little odd. Maybe it was for shipping on something...

Found that oil gasket on the parts list. It's part #18.

Hey, I know this thread is old but I just wanted to update it with some info.

I have a 2013 XF200 with both electric start and kick start. The dimensions of the filter are 40mm tall, OD 44mm, ID 13mm. The KN-131 oil filter from ebay is a easy purchase and a perfect fit in the bike.

Happy Riding
