Head Scratching Apollo db36

Greetings,
I got a Apollo db36 250cc a while back and I stupidly got the deluxe. Its the road legal version. As soon as i got it i realized the regular offroad version is what i really wanted. Long story short, i ordered the 21 and 18 in wheel hub, tire and tubes. After installing the sprocket and brake discs, i realized the front wheel axel from the deluxe does not fit in the new wheel hub! Anywho, i thought I could just go buy a new axel at my local shop until I checked the axel size. The new thinner axel that fits the new wheel will be way skinny on the forks. Did I just waste a bunch of time on getting new wheels? I am not gonna replace the whole front end.

Check bearing dimensions and axle dimensions, you might be able to make something work with the original axles. Or you could probably relace the stock hub to work with the 21" wheel and spokes.

What do you mean relace the hub? Like make the hole bigger?

From what you stated it sounds like you have different diameter in the axles. Just swap bearings in the hub if you can do it without damaging them. Unless the outside diameter of the bearings are different that should work.

I think there is also inner axle tube, brake disk offset, wheel speed sensor & seal/bushing to worry about.

Personally I would just lace a nice, new aluminum wheel with matching spokes on stock hub. In fact I am thinking about getting an Apollo 36 and do it! ^_^

Very true. We just don't know how much else is different. Might be easier just swapping the rims and lacing them onto the new hub.
