I suspect that several of us would be grateful for your translation talents. Please share the link to MCM that shows your list of parts translations to start.

As well, could we ask specific questions here? I'll start. Please tell me the proper translation of carrying rack. I'd like to search on Taobao.

Cheers! :thanks:

Chinese calls that 4 pin as DJ7041-2.3-20 officially

Use these http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=25759660491 OR crimp some "2.3" to build whatever u want.
In my rusty memory, i don't remember ANY Honda based chinese CDI uses both ground.
Key OFF in DC CDi = cuts +12V ONLY http://www.mobile01.com/topicdetail.php?f=266&t=2234502 or BOTH +12v & PC
Key OFF in AC CDi = as #20

Thanks for the links. My Roketa has two green wires, as pictured above. If I use one of the two spare CDI's I have, I cannot shut off the engine. The pinout is different, and they need a connection to the other terminal. I'll convert all of my China machines to use both ground terminals, so I can swap CDI's as necessary.

Nobody to replace
Our life is half u & me
Fight for ups & downs in life
Not scare the pain known by God
Filled up with sad & despair

Not looking for anything at the moment , I have never found another overhead cam 167fmm , any place I have looked . Should I need anything I am bit lost . Would a pushrod 167fmm piston and rings fit , I don't know . but a pushrod cylinder won't fit for sure . seems the most common is the 165fmm or 166fmm depending where you look. 169fmm cb overhead cam comes up a bit also . searching cb250

Trail riders love 'em because they don't need to constantly clutch at low speeds when crawling over stuff. As well, the absence of a clutch lever allows you to add a supplementary rear brake lever, tied into the rear caliper. You can then put both knees up on the seat for crossing rivers and creeks.

Ok, after I hit refresh enough times, I got past the login screen. Does anybody have any theories about the clutch basket with the spring on the back side? I'm guessing those are just for smooth take-off with heavy loads. I doubt that it's an automatic clutch.

I watched a Youtube video on old Honda ATC centrifugal clutches as well, and they looked just the image you found at Dan's. I'm beginning to think that an old ATC engine is the best move. I could always combine the transmission with a CG230 motor.

Brother Dan posts a lot of good information.

Seems a retro-fit makes no sense . I watched the you tube videos and see the manual clutch gets actuated by the shifter on a gear change . IE no help for your dad . We would still need our clutch lever or change to much , for it to be reasonable. Whole automatic engine seems a better way to go. That being said ,for the rest of us . We would still be able to revved clutch drops and roll to a stop without holding the clutch in .

I've ridden a Honda Big Red, and there was no clutch lever. It was a true semi-auto with a five speed transmission and a centrifugal clutch. If I could find one, it would meet his needs.

A semi-auto would also be an excellent teaching tool for new riders.

My original motor for my bike is a 49cc 4 speed semi auto. It does in fact have a lever activated clutch but its built into the foot shift lever. When you apply slight pressure to the shift lever it activates the clutch, then as you apply more pressure it shifts the gears.

That's the same setup as the small horizontal Hondas, and I believe the ATC's are also like that.

That is what I meant to convey , It would be difficult for us to employ gearshift clutch action , in a retrofit to our engines . https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=h_doQ2-Ldko&x-yt-cl=84503534&x-yt-ts=1421914688

Will be on the lookout for a big red motor. I see lots of those old ATC around here.

I'm going to do the same. It must be chain drive, but I suspect that it could be a 185 instead of a 200. The parts will likely cross over.

If I find one cheap enough, I'm gonna try building a Frankenstein motor.

I will be looking. They are around.

Interesting zongshen calls this engine a double clutch . It has a provided clutch lever for a cable hook up as well as a centrifugal clutch http://www.zse.cc/productsdetail.aspx?ProductsCateId=45&ProductsID=422

Interesting. Do you see where they actually offer the clutches for sale, or only the complete engine?

Humanbeing, are you able to ask your friends on Chinese forums about installing a centrifugal clutch in a CG200? Somebody must have done one.

No . I just found this . I have no details other than this site . First think that strikes me right away,is the side cover with 2 larger round places . A sales girl in china is trying to find out more for me . covers maybe interchangable

I doubt it. The centrifugal clutch runs off of the crankshaft, and it sticks out quite a bit (on the ATC's at least). I don't think a standard cover would have the clearance.

oh I mean maybe we could use the double clutch cover and add a centrifugal clutch. if there is not a difference on the crankshaft end . This would still need a clutch lever and cable . Really this setup is automatic for sitting still in gear. of course we can upshift without a clutch . downshifting a little harder

HB, I'm looking at this kit for my CB200. Is there a better piston you can recommend for this setup? http://world.taobao.com/item/15171992878.htm?fromSite=main&spm=a230r.1.14.109.DKkOcA

That 200 was Chonda (63.5mm) or ZS (69mm) ? http://world.taobao.com/item/15550565903.htm
Shipping cost may kill the fun... (The CG kit http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=8432093238 is ~12kg already | This kit weights more than CG )

It is the ZS 69mm bore. I bought a CB250 crank to go with it, but you convinced me that it's not worth the trouble. Do you know the CB250 stroke? I'm guessing that it's around 66mm.

HB, can you point to any information about the PGO scooters between 1972 and 1982? I can't find anything from those years.
