Brozz 250 idling too high -
Hi y'all!
New to the forum and just put together my bike- a Brozz 250 Blue Angel. I've started it up no problem but she keeps revving past 7-8000 rpms in idle. I tried setting the idle back on the carb but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I've started it several times with no change. I also checked the throttle and it's not stuck in any way. I'm newbie when it comes to engines/bikes and not sure what to do and I'm open to any suggestions you might have. Thanks for your help! V |
Sounds like it's sucking air from somewhere it shouldn't be. Make sure the nuts that hold the carb on are tight as well as the ones that hold the carb mounting flange to the head. Unscrew the slide cap where the throttle cable goes in, there should be a gasket in the top of cap but they can fall out.

7000-8000 rpm's is wide open throttle, make sure the throttle is returning to the seated ( throttle off position) at the handlebars. If you had the carb off the bike the throttle slide may be put back in the wrong position. If the 7000-8000 rpms was a mistake on your part and it's idling high but not that high then check your choke position. The lever on the left side of the carb is the choke lever, all the way down is off, middle position is half choke, all the way up is full choke. Unless your in a very cold climate, set the check on the middle position and start the bike let it idle for a few seconds and turn the choke off.(push the lever down) |
Thanks so much for the feedback guys! I had pulled the throttle cable too much when I assembled it and there was a gap on the top of the carb. Problem solved!

Are you fellow out by Las Vegas who called me? Very tough to diagnose bikes by phones. Glad the forum was able to help get it solved!!! |
My mixture screw fell off my carb when I was out on a ride. I know I know HOW!? The bike was stuck a 4K every time i was at 0% throttle. Fun day. Was hard to spot too.
