Recommended environment for working on them...

I live in an apartment so already I'm kind of limited to what kind of work I can do. I think I can easily drive it into my kitchen for safe keeping and light work, management has allowed it before. Being that most of these Chinabikes require some initial maintenance and disassembly and regular as well, is it feasible to work on one in an apartment? I have enough space that I can work on my motorized bicycles in here and that's one of the main attractions for me with these smaller cc bikes. So I suppose I need a stand of sort to keep the front/rear off the ground. Anything else or recommendations on a stand?
