Adjusted valves, does this sound right?

I'm gonna have to read that at least ten times for maybe half of it to sink in. Dude, I've learned more about engines in that one post than the sum total of all my attempts to learn engines. Engines, to me, are like computers to some people. MAGIC. Crazy engineering and science, too.

I looked at a computer and just "got it". I look at an engine and I can see a couple major components, but when you start talking about rockers and lifters and cam lobes and valve lash, holy crap does my head start spinning. Like, this is the first time ever I put my hands on a valve and did an "adjustment".
